which do you girls think is best? *updated*

Ok so i'm due to ovulate on the 28th of this month. Well this time the donor has given me the choice of which day i want him to donate. So i have a choice of 2 days before ov, 1 day before ov or the day of ov.
Which do you think would be best? As a lot of you know we only get one donation a month and i dont want to screw it up!!!
i would be very gratefull for any ideas at all

Personally I'd go for the day before O, but thats my preference.

Are you using OPK's/CBFM to pinpoint O?

I have used opks in the past but i have found that my cycle is exactly the same every month!!! i also suffer from severe mittelschmerz which is a crippling pain when i ovulate so i pretty much know when its happening.
I had thought the day before too so Thank you so much for your advice sweetie, i am getting all excited now!!!

I just wanted to say that my sperm donor has confirmed that he will be coming on the 27th January (day before ovulation). And I'm a mixture of petrified and excited
well at least i don't have to do it in the back of the car this time , hes very kindly offered to donate in my home . syringes and pre seed at the ready
I think i'm going to be a bag of nerves until Tuesday.

yes its pretty simple, he ejaculates into a sterile container then leaves.
i draw the semen into a syringe and insert, he has said that i do need to try and have an orgasm to help (great excuse for my lady toys lol)
then lay back and wait 30 mins and hey presto its done!! i just hope the post man doesn't turn up mid insemination, i hate missing package deliveries

i cant wait, but am dreading the tww.

it does take 20 mins for the spermies to liquefy before i can insert it, so theres even time for a cup of tea

Hi

My IUI's with donor sperm are timed the day after a positive OPK. For me that is usually the day of or the day before Ovulation. But the sperm is frozen and has a shorter shelf life than fresh sperm. I agree with everyone here - the day before ov seems like it would be best.

Is there a reason for only one donation a month. Others I know who use known donor's arrange for at least 3 donations a month...

We have a legal contract with the donor so he has no rights to the child whatsoever. He has donated at clinics before, but we drew up a contract with a solicitor and were both happy with it. The only thing he has requested to know is our address so that when the child gets older he can warn us if he has donated to anyone else within a certain radius incase they get together. Hes a really nice and well organsied man.
