Started with SMA and he had wind problems from the start shcnaged to cow and gate at 6 weeks and it initially helped but at 11 weeks (on Fri) it;s coming back really badly. Should I try yet another milk like Aptamil?

Mmmmm, Im not sure if Aptamil would help. Your lo was fine on Cow and Gate for 5 weeks so maybe ask your HV if maybe putting him on comfort milk would help? xxx

Personally, we had wind problems on C&G so changed to Aptamil Comfort for a while, made a world of difference and as LO got a little older and wind problems seemed to have gone for good I tried Aptamil 1st infant and she did super on this. Never had any problems since changing.

That was just us though. But I would say no harm in trying it, I trialled Aptamil for a couple of days by buying ready made boxes, noticed a difference in a just 24 hours.

We had loads of painful wind on SMA, changed to normal Aptamil (not comfort) at 6 weeks, wish i'd done it sooner. Some babies just can't get away with certain formulas, my GP said i'd done the right thing and it didn't hurt to try!

I used aptamil with LO until she was about 10 weeks. She had terrible wind and colic! We switched to the comfort milk which helped massively. However it didn't completely get rid of her colic and wind, it just eased the symptoms. I think she has very much improved down to the milk but I also think its as her insides are better developed and working!:) X

We use cow and gate comfort due to constipation, we changed after 2 weeks of the normal one and LO has never had any trouble with it. If your LO isn't getting on with it though like the others have said you can always try another but i know it can take a while for babies to adjust to the change sometimes.

I believe that C&G and Aptimal are the same! I would check with your HV, but in our case, LO hated SMA (Aptimal from birth, wasn't feeding in NICU, they tried him on SMA, seemed to work for a day, back to Aptimal, but it was a too small teat that was the problem) -- perhaps try the next size to confirm it is the formula and go from there!

best wishes

With Jayden we started with SMA but he brought it up alot so changed to HIPP and he was fine, Finley has HIPP too and so far no problems x
