Who are the 'bigger presents' from? Parents or Santa

We always had a few little things from Santa, be it a doll, chocolates and socks and then the big expensive things from mum and dad, but how do you do it in your house?

When I was growing up Santa brought me everything, and my mum and dad never got me anything, which looking back, is strange that I never picked up on the fact my mum and dad didn't get me anything for xmas. Santa will bring most things for Amy, but I might keep one aside from mummy and daddy

DH had half his gifts coming from his parents, so wants Eleanor to get the main gifts from 'us'

... I think it's gonna be a discussion for next year, this year we just won't put 'from' tags on it =P

my presents where always half n half whereas oh's where always from parents n family so we're still talking about who they should be from, even though bubs is only guna be 1 1/2 months by christmas so won't really know whats going on.

Everything came from FC when we were kids and I never questioned the fact I had to write thank you letters to all my relatives!! Sister's kids were far more inquisitive though so she and her DH came up with this system

Same here - I want to be able to explain when he's older why he may not be able to have everything he wants (because mummy and daddy can't afford it), and if everything is from Santa and is made by magic elves then I can't do that lol

We got stockings from Santa then main preserves from parents and everyone else. I really enjoyed that as we could open pressies from santa as soon as we woke, but all the others we had to wait for everyone to be up and had breakie etc but it was fun as we opened presses twice x
