Who has a growth scan and why?

Well I have had a good many and now at 35 weeks I questioned it - at 33 weeks I was told baby weighs 5lbs on the dot. Exactly 2 weeks later I was told 7 pounds 5 ounces - it is surely not possible for a baby to pick up more than 2lbs in 2 weeks. The doctor did say when he checked that one of the measurements must be wrong then but that makes me doubt all of it. I seriously hope they are wrong since if baby picks up another 2 pounds in 2 weeks then she'll be over 10lbs by 38 weeks when I am due to be induced. My last was 8pounds 3 ounces at 38 weeks so surely this one should not be THAT much bigger!
