Why Why Why!!!!

After reading ALL the bad reports on here I STILL went out after work and bought a Summer Fetal Sounds thingy. I couldn't help myself, I didn't want to wait to order one from e-bay as my scan is on Monday morning so it wouldn't have come before then and I just feel I can't wait all weekend not knowing.

I got in a muddle and thought it was going to be like a doppler but obviously its not. I just feel so silly wasting £30 on it.
Does anyone know what the noises I am hearing are though? Its like a muffled rustley sound (sorry!!) and now and again there is like a bump sound. I don't know!? Could it be baby or just my tummy making funny noises?

When I heard that sound on mine it was baby moving, this was confirmed when my little one decided she didnt like it anymore and promptly attempted to kick really hard at my stomach to get it off hehe.

My neighbour has one too and she's 13 weeks gone and it was her baby moving (she's had 4 and can feel this one slightly already) I know have an angelsounds one which is great!

So long as you still have the box you can take it back...thats what I eventually did with mine and exchanged it for some sleepers hehe.

Im sure the summer ones you cant pick up a heartbeat on them until later on in pregnancy but i would just check on the instructions. I have the angelsounds one and here all kinds noises on there xx

i got a summer one off ebay sort of by mistake :dohh: it says you can get heartbeats from about 20 weeks on the box ... aaagh! i wondered why i got it super cheap ....
was thinking about hiring an angel sounds or hi bebe one in a few weeks time to keep me going till then ...

My friend still couldnt hear her babies heartbeat at 32 weeks pregnant with that monitor.

Well, I have put it away in the drawer now. Maybe I'll try again in a month or so.
I'll just have to be patient and wait unitl Monday so I can hear AND see baby...can't wait!!

I would sell it and then buy angelsounds i got mine for £18 off ebay mine is so clear so im sure you wuld have no problems with this one xx

if its got instructions with it have a look it defo says from 20wk in pregnancy i had one :? then i had a angelsounds one, still cudnt find HB so got a hibebe one x

Well, I have just paid £20 for a Baby Sound Doppler on Ebay and the lady only lives 20 mins away so i am going to collect it this afternoon!!

Does anyone know if this one is any good? I hope so!! She said she had the heartbeat from 10 weeks so fingers crossed.

Cat, just so you don't panic, most midwifes won't even try to hear a heartbeat till about 16 weeks. When you go for your scan you won't hear the heartbeat, the baby is still too small, but you will likely see it flickering away on the screen.

Try and tell yourself that patience is required otherwise you are in for a long 7 or 8 months ahead (this coming from the girl who won't wait for a bus because she is so impatient lol - so I know where you are coming from!!)

hiya hun i havent heard of that 1 ! i got a hibebe an found baby at 11+2 really down low just above pubic bone , baby has moved up everso slightly now , good luck xxxxxxxx

Well, got the Doppler and ran straight home to try it!!
I think I found the HB. It was about 140 - 170 bpm, I kept loosing count!!
It wasn't like a thump thump sound but more of a softer whirier beating.

That listener was THE crappiest thing I have ever bought! And not even just for the baby. Ever! I got it when I was pregnant with my first and NEVER heard any heartbeat! Not even late in pregnancy! Ever. Still sits in my draw... The worst £30 I spent in my life!
I am thinking about selling it on eBay but in the same time I don't think I can do that to any other pregnant woman... I think the whole company should be suied(sp?)!
:hissy::hissy::hissy:

hi hun, sorry to hear your having problems :hugs: if it helps at all i have a hibabe one and still havent heard h/b propperly at 14 weeks, only for 2 seconds then he swam off havnt found it since  ive heard movment though. Like the ladies said its very low down at this stage

Yeah, at first I thought I would just sell it on e-bay but I can't let another poor unsuspecting mummy to be end up with this piece of rubbish. I'll just keep it inmy drawer as a reminder to have some patience once and a while!

I use the strap for my hip pain now...very useful use I think, my midwife suggested it to me

Caitlyn also enjoys kicking the strap...but other than that I have found no other uses for mine since I've had it.

Glad you found the HB with your new doppler hun :happydance:
