Why does lochia increase/start again with early exercise?

I've done some browsing and can't find any answers to my question.

On Monday (3 weeks pp), I was feeling really good so did some upper body weight training and a few 30 second planks. Yesterday and today I've had bleeding - not much, but the bleeding had stopped a week ago so was strange to see it start again.

I know it can increase / start up again, but does anyone know why?

I'm so eager to return to training, but I seriously thought I took it easy. Guess my body thinks otherwise.
 
Well, it makes sense it would increase with exercise because doesn't the uterus start contracting more with exercise?

Either way, I found that my bleeding/lochia would seem to have stopped and then start up again the next day. That went on for a week or so right around 3 weeks PP, so what you're describing sounds normal to me!
