Why is my bump all lopsided?

Ever since I first began to feel a tiny bump, it's been mostly on the right side. It looks and feels so lopsided to me. I don't remember this with my other 2 pregnancies. I have only had one appt so far, at 10 wks, and our doc said that it was ok and perfectly normal for the uterus to move and change position. But it's ALWAYs over the right. Just seems strange to me. I have had 2 c-sections and wonder if that has anything to do with my lopsidedness?

Anyone else with an oddly shaped bump who can relate?

Mine is exactly the same! I am 16 weeks on Friday and have noticed this for at least 2 or 3 weeks. When I lie down I actually have a bulge to the right but nothing to the left...it is rather odd.

I am going to ask my midwife about this on Thursday so I will let you know what she says!

Cautious-thanks! I don't see my doc again until next week so you will get an answer before I do. I'm anxious to hear what your midwife has to say. I hope it's normal-ish and nothing to worry about.

I am 80% on the right side. I feel like as baby takes over my entire abdomen, it will all even out.

Your previous section could have caused some adhesions and scar tissue that causes the uterus to list to the right, however, if OB isn't worried I wouldn't be either!

lol this is my first baby, and so I dont know about previous births affecting it..but sometimes I think mine is more lopsided to the right too! I thought I was the only weird one... lol

One twin is in the middle and one is right over to the left so when i lie down my bump is also bigger on one side. The midwife and consultabt know this and arent worried so neither am i xx

hey ladies, this is my third baby and it started to hog my right hand side from around 14 weeks (im 20+4weeks now) and i asked my OBGYN and she said its fine as at that time the baby has lots of room to move around and possy itself wherever it wants. Now im further along i know my little man still loves my right side but its not as prominant as what it was. My second baby loved my right side too right up til the end but didnt start to favour it until i was in the 3rd trimester, so i think all babies just pick a favourite spot when they feel like it to make themselves comfy after all thats there own little home in there for 9 months :winkwink:

Mine is the same way. The first morning I woke up with a proper bump, I jumped out of bed in a panic because it was all on the right side. It freaked me out, but is apparently completely normal. I heard most babies lay comfortably closer to the right side and that can obviously show from the outside. Nothing wrong with it even if it looks was little silly when you're staring down lol.

My bump seems to be bigger on the left side, mostly. I just figure baby likes being on that side more.

Mine is lopsided b/c I have fibroids that keep growing with this pregnancy! :)

I have fibroids too. I wonder if they are growing and causing some of the lopsidedness? So long as baby is ok, I guess I'm alright with an abnormally shaped bump.

Hey ladies.

I asked the midwife about my lopsided bump today (more of a small bulge) and she said that it as all normal and nothing to worry about!

Hopefully will even out as it grows as it is really pretty lopsided! lol!

Mine was like that too until about 16 weeks. I asked my OB and apparently that is most common due to the anatomy of the intestines, etc. I guess when it is still smallish it gets pushed that way normally, but either side is normal, just often to the right! I was like that with my first too. Felt really weird though. I'm 22 weeks now and its centred.

Thank you all for your responses. I feel much more at ease now and hope that as my pregnancy progresses, my bump evens out.
