My maternity leave ends in November I've contacted work and they are saying I have to go back 30 hours a week to keep my job. This means I'll be working to pay someone else to look after my daughter so my idea is I'll leave my job, wait until after Christmas (everything I can find to do with ratail is temp work over christmas) then find something for 15-20 hours so my mum and parter can help with Lilly when I'm at work.
I started my calling citizens advice and they gave me a rough idea of what I'm entitled to regarding child's tax credits, working tax credits, housing and council tax benefits.
I called tax credits and have sorted everything out with them and citizens advice got those estimates right so today I went into my local council to ask about housing and council tax benefits and was told I wouldn't be entitled to help with my council tax and only £14 a week help with my rent where as citizens advice had told me £59 a week housing benefit and £7 a week council tax.
When I came home I checked on my local councils website and their calculator said I was entitled to £40 a week housing benefit so now I really feel lost with what to do and what I can claim.
I also don't understand how I can only be given a rough estimate when I'm giving them the exact figures they are asking for.
I was just wondering if anyone was in the same situation
