ok so im starting to plan for the arrival of #2 and im thinking about the buggy situation.
i was thinking that as LO will be 2 when #2 arrives we might get away with a buggy board but am i being a bit ambitious???

he is a very independent boy who if he had his way would prefer to walk than go in the pushchair but obviously i appreciate he may get tired from all the walking.

what do u ladies think???

Tom's 21 months and he will walk miles when he's in the mood but he also likes to be carried or go in his pushchair a lot. He also walks pretty slowly!

I think by 2 he would possibly be ok with a buggy board but I wouldn't like to guarantee it if I was near a busy road and had a baby too.

Id say yes. River was great with walking a few months ago, preferred it to the pushchair but now she wants to go in it. Alot of toddlers are the same

YES you will.

I always hear....'oh they love walking now, so i wont need a pushchair or double pushchair'..... and i think.......... you just wait and see LOL. i wont be getting rid of pushchair until my LO is at least 3.

We've got a sling for number 2 so can still use pushchair with W when needed, for me as much as him lol! Sometimes walking with toddler is fine but going into town etc I just find easier knowing he's safe and in one place in his pram especially if in town on my own

I say yes too. Ruby hated pushchairs alllll her life but now, at 2 years 5 months, she wants to go in it all time!

good question. ive been looking at double buggies (which is pretty funny as zakk still HATES his pushchair. i swear he would be in a sling if he could.

my son was 23 months when my daughter was born and we got a P&T for when we go out shopping for the day or on other outings. When I just pop with the 2 of them to the shop quickly i use the bugaboo with a buggyboard and I let him either stand on it or walk. But i dont think he would manage walking around several hours in town and tbh I personally cant b bothered with the hassle especially when I go by myself watching him like a hawk so he doesnt run into ppl, runs on the road, takes stuff out of the shop, eats suff of the floor etc. Having a double buggy is just the easiest option for running errands and longer outings.

Yes defrinately!... Tom is just over 2 and we use his pram if out for most of day or around nap time.

The P&T would be a good choice as when your eldest gets older and your youngest still needs a pram you can turn it in to a single!

I would say you will need a buggy for a 2 year old. My little boy is 2 in dec and he would quite happily walk everywhere and is extremely independent, but he gets tired and has no sense and likes to run towards roads, over walls etc etc. With a baby too it could get difficult for you. My little girl was an angel but we still needed a buggy for her until she was about 3.

thats great feedback ladies. i guess id better start looking for a new double buggy then lol.

im not sure what these P&T things are but i think i get the jist so ill have a google.

i wasn't going to get a double buggy but i am now! jake will only be about 21 months when this baby is born. so i think i'll be needing one for a while.

Most definately yes! If I don't have a buggy I will only walk with her as far as I can carry her back to where we came from - which is not far! However, I think she would go on a buggy board, as its just the walking she gets tired of. not standing.

haha yes me too, and being pregnant that's not far at all now! Once Ruby has got tired / fed up she will continue to walk but she'll walk 'funny', keep deliberately falling over etc and whine constantly!

LO will be 22 months when baby 2 arrives.

She is great on her feet and when we are out and about she does walk, but I take the buggy too so that if she is tired she can jump in.

I am getting a sling/carrier for baby 2 rather than a double:flower:

Mines a godsend and Ellis is currently going through a phase of not trying to escape! Plus it's great for holding the shopping too! I'd say get a double xxx

Phil and Ted hun. They are tandem buggys. We got the explorer and its fab. Mothercare had a great deal on them a while ago. Footmuff, 2nd seat, cupholder, raincover and buggy for £499

I would say yes, but I wouldn't buy a double buggy as I don't think they'd fit in as Earl is big lol. I'd looked at these as sort of a halfway house. Rather than having a second seat there's a bench that you can strap the toddler into when near busy roads, or if they get tired. Otherwise it just looks like a slightly longer single. Wee bit pricey but I really like it. Highly doubt I'll need one at 2 years 7 months, but if he was only 2 when the 2nd arrived I would definitely conisder it!

going on my experience, yes. Adam has always liked his pushchair anyway, which is fortunate, because I don't give him the choice unless I am not alone with him. with someone else around it's not too bad, as he will walk holding hands now, but it's usually just us during the day, and I simply can't chase after him more than I already am at home. we've got a P&T Explorer ready for the new baby, got the same package as welshwarriors, though it's still in the box. I keep telling my husband we're running short of time in case there's a problem.

I will probably sometimes use a sling for the new baby with Adam in the pushchair, but I know myself and how achey and tired I was after having Adam, I had knee problems and SPD that didn't go away entirely till he was 6 months old, and I couldn't cope with wearing him in a sling (and it is a decent one) for longer than about half an hour till he was about 7 months old. I don't want it to be that it's my only option because I don't drive so I walk and use buses when out without my husband, and I can't face the thought of either being stuck inside or going out but being so exhausted I am miserable. so there was no suggestion that we'd not get a double pushchair.
