Hi,

After LO being diagnosed with reflux and an intolerance we have decided with the help of my HV to switch her over to a special formula. Im disappointed as love BF and felt really proud to be doing it but after seeing how much better she is on this formula I know it has to be done.

My supply is already a bit lower (I get 3oz per boob when I express rather than the 6oz I was getting a week or so ago) but I dont want it to dry up completely as usually once a day I put LO to the breast either as a bit of a top up if she still seems hungry or as a way to settle her off to sleep as a comfort. Id like to be able to keep a small supply will my body just adapt or will milk dry up completely with her only coming on to suckle or for small feeds so infrequently?

Could you put her to the breast after every bottle? That way she's still sending your body signals to make more milk.

She is quite young so maybe not if your supply hasnt regulated but some women successfully combi feed no problem. Its worth a go if you really want to.
