I've been off sick from my work with spd for 5 weeks and won't be returning to work before I have the LO. My work sent me to there occupational therapist who deemed me unfit to do my job as I can hardly walk, so there was no way I could look after the elderly.
This doesn't affect what I am entitled to in regards to maternity pay or leave. My boss has very little contact with me as she knows my condition isn't suddenly going to disappear and there is no way I will be returning.
Maybe your SIL should call her boss and let her know what she is planning to do. My boss knows once my 8 week line is up I will be starting my mat leave and I discussed this with her last week.
im not sure but if she cant claim smp, she should be able to claim maternity allowance aslong as she has worked atleast 26wks out of 66wks before the baby is born.
Yeah my mate was off with hyperemesis for most of her pregnancy and she still got it. She should double check with her company but as long as she is in employment she is definately entitled to SMP. Whether or not she gets the companty maternity pay is up to them I guess...
