Hi Ladies,

Really getting to me now, my poor little lady has such bad wind and trapped wind.

She has 6oz bottles and downs the lot every time. We wind her every 2oz and always get 2-3 burps each wind, then again at the end. We also keep her upright for about an hour after feeding as we know how badly windy she is.

She brings the wind up really well, but has just ALWAYS got more wind in her poor llittle body and im not sure why or how else i can help her. She is also waking though the night with painful bottom wind farting and screaming in pain

We have tried all the gripe water, infacol, dentinox colic drops etc, everything i can think of! She is also having a probiotic. We have also tried different bottles!

Would feeding her little and often help? Or make things worse? I really cant think of anything else that i havent tried. Does anyone have any ideas for me? I hate to see her in so much pain and it is really getting me down.

Maybe changing her milk would help? Joel had colic and used to get a lot of trapped wind which eased off when I moved him onto cow and gate comfort x

Thanks for responding hun, should have said - she is neocate for a milk allergy, and i must say now you say that it has got worse the wind since a couple of weeks after being on this so maybe that does have something to do with it?!?!?

Try and get her feed into her before she has a chance to get worked up and cry. If she is crying or greeting for a feed then she is likely to gulp it down and swallow more air. Keep a listen as she drinks and you should hear any air go in her, like when it hits her stomach. Try and wind then straight away. When winding support her under her chin and under her armpits from the front and grab her back and around her lower abdomen and very gently push to straighten her back up slightly. VERY gently though. Bursts of fast back patting andf then straightening normally do it. For bum wind, so might not like this much but it is effective and less distressing in the long run, lay her on her back and gently hold her calfs and push up so that he knees go towards her chest and put a little pressure on her abdomen. Push very gently and hold them there. She will likely push against you and maybe strain and cry, but teh combo of that effort from her and the position of her legs will normally force some trumps out of her and ease that tummy a bit xx
