Hi all,

Max has never been fond of napping in his cot but lately he gets himself into an awful state when I put him down in it. He doesn't like going to sleep in it at night either but will go off after 10 mins.

When he goes off for a nap I give him 20 mins and if he is worked up I just put him in the buggy and he goes off after 2 minutes.

My OH thinks we should persevere with the cot but I don't think it is doing him any harm to nap in the buggy, as no matter where we go, his buggy will be with him. I don't want to get him into any bad habits though, and am happy to persevere with the cot but he gets really distressed.

Anyone got any ideas?

ive put rhys to nap in his buggy ever since he stopped dropping off by himself.

i think that as the buggy is always with him he will always have somewhere he is familiar with to nap.

i have never put rhys to nap in his cot and dont seee anything wrong with always using buggy

Thanks for replying :)

That's what I think too, I don't have a problem with it. He has been used to being in the buggy from when he was a few days old and I think he thinks the cot is just for night time???

rhys has a fit if he has to go in his cot in the day!

he knows that cot = sleep for a long time
buggy = nap.

id be affraid of trying him in his cot incase he stopped sleeping through the night.

i agree i dont dont put my lo down in her cot either its always been in her buggy:thumbup:.

i think if she goes for a nap in her cot and bed in her cot it will confuse her. as it is now she understand the differnce between night and day:happydance:.
night time is cot time and day naps r buggy or soffa naps with mummy xx

omg i do that 2 hehe :haha::haha:.

Ella is 11 weeks.
She sleeps brilliantly BUT, the big cotbed is her night bed in her own room.
Her day bed is a small mini cot/crib in our room.
Her bedroom has blackout blinds and low ceilings (well, normal height, we live in a Georgian house) and our room has massive windows x 3, huge ceilings and wooden blinds so quite light and south facing so sunny.
It has always been that way, put her in her 'night bed' for a nap and it won't happen, her eyes actually go wide open with fear if you take her in her bedroom in the day!!!
Nothing wrong with a day and night routine in my opinion, if it isn't broke why try to fix it?

Your all right of course. I don't know why my Oh has such an issue with it. I can't see how it will lead to bad habits as the buggy is always with Max so it won't be an issue????
