What is everyone's view on wooden train sets vs. the motorized ones like trackmaster? Colin already has a lot of wooden tracks but are the trackmaster sets better?

It depends on your child I think hun. For Lucas it would be a no as he likes to actually push his trains round and be involved. He does have a few motorised trains for his wooden set that he puts on and watches occasionally but he gets bored very quick and goes back to his push along ones. xx

I vote wooden only because we have a Trackmasters set and I have to set it up every time because its to be built a certain way and LO can't do it then all he does is get his trains going on it and watch them go round and round though recently he's set them up to run in different directions and crash lol whereas the wooden ones he uses his imagination sets up really complicated big tracks uses accessories like crane/bridges etc and talks away about what he's doing which trains have which loads/carriages etc I just feel there's more involvement in the wooden sets
