Hello mummies!

I was wondering if someone could advise me?
I am 6 weeks pregnant... 7 weeks this week and working 37.5 hours per week.
However, it's not long off 12 weeks and as I'm quiet petite I will start to show.
Does any mummies know when it's best to inform work?
Just as I want to be able to go to scanning appointments and my bookings.
This is my first .... X

I would tell your boss soon if I were you but ask him/her not to mention it to anyone til your comfortable with them knowing.
the sooner they know the easier it will be to get the time off :)

good luck hun!!

I'm now 13 weeks and petite too, so far just look at little like I've eaten too many burgers around my middle, but still in normal clothes, so anyone not paying too much attention haven't even noticed - in fact even the ones that I have told (only 2 close colleagues) haven't even noticed.

I have scan tomorrow, so then will tell my immediate supervisor sometime after that all being well (I've taken it as a days holiday) but as appointments start becoming more frequent I'll need to tell him, probably this week x

(I sit at a desk all day FYI!)

I'm planning on telling my work after the 12wk scan. I've got my booking appt on Wed but I've just told them I have a medical appt that wasn't possible to schedule outside of normal working hours, and they're fine with that. I think in the UK they have to allow reasonable time off for medical appts.

Im a UK 8/10 and pretty petite and Im only just starting to show now. Whilst you might be bloated on and off its highly unlikely you will show at 12 weeks to the point where its obvious so you should be able to hold off until about 20 weeks or so if you dont want to tell them sooner. x

I used to be able to suck my 'bloat' in, but it's getting more difficult now, you'd definitely think I'm fat side on if you didn't know, like you say it's more bloat but there's no hiding it! Even my Dad said at the weekend 'you're starting to show now' as my pot belly poked out of my vest top!
I haven't exercised for weeks now, so the fat and soggy muscle isn't helping!

Thank you all. I sit at a desk also, only thing Is I have been offered a promotion and the job is more
Involved and I really don't want to let them down, I mean they wouldn't care if they were.to make redundancies etc... So I just don't know! I am abit on the keep stum side but also I'm so excited...
Do you think it's best to wait until further down the lane or to tell my boss but not anyone else? X

Personally, providing you dont have to do heavy lifting etc, I would wait. I wouldnt tell your boss or anyone else. x

Lovely.. Thank you!! It's one of those things which is really hard to make sure you do right!
How's pregnancy treating you?

If a promotion is on the cards I'd definitely wait. You won't be letting them down - you're entitled to be pregnant - and if it means more maternity pay i say go for it! xx

Wasnt sure if this post was for me or not so if it wasnt I apologise and will tell you anyway!

Its fine. I found first tri pretty awful TBH. Its my first so didnt know what to expect. Hated most of it! lol That was mainly because of morning sickness which kicked in at 7 weeks until 12 weeks or so. Seeing baby at 12 week scan made it all worthwhile though!! Baby started kicking the other day (just inside not outside) so thats pretty cool. How are you doing? Finding it ok?? xx
