Another UKer here, I will take, in total, around 54-56 weeks. I leave next week and start two weeks fully paid annual leave, then move to maternity leave, which will be 8 weeks full pay, 18 weeks half pay PLUS statutory maternity pay and then a further 13 weeks on statutory pay alone. I'll then be unpaid, but able to work 10 "keeping in touch" days to bring in a bit of money and towards the end I will take all the annual leave accrued while off, so will be able to take a further 7 weeks fully paid and be able to work shifts during that time to further top it up if I want. This will still be a financial struggle for us, but I am grateful to be in the UK where it isn't too bad. Slovenia looks like the place to be mind!
