Working More Days

I currently work two days a week, LO goes to nursery for half a day then with grandparents the rest of the time. I'm working out if it worth my while going back another day a week, LO would need to go in nursery & with my fuel costs don't think I will be much better off each week.


How did others of you decide if it worthwhile or not?

As your child care costs increase, child and working tax credits might increase too, depending on your circumstances (assuming you're in the UK). I would go to CAB (citizen's advice) and ask them to help you work out what you would be entitled to if you increased your working hours, and find out from nursery what the costs of an extra day would be.
