With this being my third pregnancy, I know that labor can go quickly.
Today was my ob appt and my first cervical check. I was "not too posterior" and about 1cm... she didn't say anything else. When I was wiping up the goop they use afterwards, I noticed what looked like yellow snot on the tissue and figured they knocked loose some mucus plug. Just about 2 hours ago I started having contractions, painful enough that they are keeping me awake and some I have to breathe through... only problem? They are ALL OVER! Anywhere from 1.5 minutes to 7 minutes apart... and anywhere from 30 seconds to 1.5 min long! I feel them mostly in my hips and pelvis, like this poor baby is pushing to get out. LOL.
Should I wait until they get consistent or what? I am thinking of just calling to see what they say. Perhaps asking if there is a way to check my own cervix so I don't get to the hospital too early or late since I would rather labor at home.
Any advice?

Hey hun, Id be tempted to check my own cervix too just to see if I was dilating but I doubt the labour ward would recommend it, if you can sit on the toilet and get one foot up on the seat that will be the easiest position... It could be false contractions brought on by the internal check you had but then again it could be the real thing, when are you due? x

how far a long are you?

if it were me, i would def call the hospital and tell them the situation. at least then, they will be alerted of the possibility of you coming in too. this is my 3rd and i am worried how quickly things will happen. with my 2nd my water broke at 330am and by 5am i was screaming in pain. got to the hospital at 8cms and had the baby by 730am. i never knew i was in labor until my water broke. i do NOT want to have a home birth. the thought of it scares me. LOL

let us know how things go!

Yeah give them a ring, they are likely to say wait until they are regular x

well they told me to come in since i was laboring like this from 130am to about 630am when i called them.
got the hospital at 830 and was dilated to a 3.
contractions were great at 3-4 apart up until about 130 pm... then they just stopped.
I didn't dilate any more from the 3cm from about 830-130... even with all the contractions.
now they come when i walk, but aren't too strong... and occasionally when i am just sitting (those are the worst) but not consistent. I just labored for 12 hours... got to 3cm, and now nothing. i lost my plug though. they have asked me if i want to try pitocin, and at this point, bring it on. im utterly exhausted and i dont want to go home and have to come right back. its so frustrating!!!
