I am so tired of worrying about everything but its like I cant help it! Does anyone else have this problem? I worry that he isnt kicking enough especially on days when he is super quiet and I dont feel anything all day. Or I worry that my uterus isnt growing enough, my doc hasnt been measuring me like I have heard they are supposed to. I worry that I am standing too much with work and that it will somehow harm the baby or put me into preterm labor... the list goes on and on!! I feel crazy! I just needed to rant about it for a minute cause its kinda stressing me out. I dont know if its hormones or what but the last week or two have been ridiculous for me. I have a doc appt on tuesday and that normally calms my nerves.

Does anyone else worry about the amount of movement?? He was super active between my 19th and 20th week and from then til now he hasnt been moving nearly as much. Some days he doesnt move at all. I have heard that babies are more active at night but he doesnt move much, he has only woken me up twice and that was during his super active week. Other than that I rarely feel him move when I get up for potty breaks at night. AAhh. Im crazy!!

Yeah I worry about lack of movement too. I havent felt anything since yesterday lunch time, but junior is usually more active in the evening and when I go to bed. Ive prodded him/her a few times and I even had a bath last night but nothing! Unfortunately I think Im at the stage where you can go days without feeling anything, but I hate it. I havent stopped worrying since last night :(

I hope you start feeling less stressed soon hun, do you have a scan coming up to put your mind at rest?
xxx

Get yourself a doppler - I couldn't recommend one enough after all my worries this helped! Using them early the MW worries it worries you but it did the opposite for me from 10 weeks. Also one thing to consider is if you get a digita display or not should you get one the display can worry you when the HB isn't as high as earlier/day before it did me a couple of times so maybe one without although it was normal! Just a recommendation anyway :D

Each carrying Mum will feel movements different - My Caitlin was more active at night but sometimes not as much I assume she moved when I was fast asleep!

The movement counts don't start til about 30 weeks but certainly if your concerned contact your MW. Is this your first? At this stage of my first I wasn't even SURE of kicks.

Yes get a doppler they are great I dont use mine much anymore as baby is moving frequency where I know he is alive. I was a worrier in the early stages until my second scan really I would worried that he is not alive . Just worry about everything. I would worry now If I didnt get any movement in a day but i would use my doppler to hear heart beat to put my mind at rest.

I got mine off ebay paid about £11 I think or even less well worth it

I asked for one for xmas but my dad said it was a silly thing to pay money for and refused to get one! I think Im going to though, Ive still got just under 4 weeks til my next scan.

When I was pregnant with Nathan if he didn't move for a while I'd drink cold water and lay/sit still and then he would normally move or just resting anyway can make them move. Nathan always woke up just as I was going to sleep :dohh:

I agree with Wobbles though about the doppler, well worth the money. I also agree about the heartrate display it's good at first so you know it's baby's heartbeat and not yours but if it goes down compared to what it had been it can worry you sometimes.

Babies at 18 to 21 weeks or so are going through an active time, they are getting big enough to fill up the uterus so they are testing those muscles and the brain is sending out pulses to get those muscles going :) (And we begin to feel those little flutters and tiny jabs and kicks)

Following the 21st week or so is a period of RAPID growth again. This will last until the 24-26th week (or so) This rapid growth time, our babies are sleeping 90%-95% of the time. It takes a lot of energy to grow that fast! :)

(We should know, we are way more tired now too and we're growing big :))

So 90%- 95% of 24 hours is 1.2 to 2.4 hours in a whole day. Our babies are awake and have the opportunity to move a lot. Then during this time they have to kick us where we can feel it :) Right now, I can tell my baby is horizontal in my pelvis most often (though it's spending more time right side up or upside down :)) and that its back is to my belly button. So a lot of it's little movements are getting lost in my organs and torso.

Anyway, try not to worry, baby's just doing what they do best :)

Its normal to worry hon. I know I did if I didn't feel the baby move as much as the day before but I think its only natural for us to do so. Motherly instinct and all. Very soon, you'll notice the active periods and sleepy or quiet periods of the baby.

For me now the baby is really quiet during the day, maybe a few kicks here and there but is super active at night.
I'm sure your little one is just fine :hugs:

Marg, you're the greatest. The amount of information you give is awesome. I love reading your posts! You're like a pregnancy book :hugs::rofl:

I do worry as well, but I do my best to let it go as I know it is not productive and just does my head in. My midwife had a big talk to me about worrying and so I am trying to take her advice.

I totally agree with you getting a dopplar. It is such a reassurance to hear that little heart pumping away when ever you want.

I've only felt my baby move about 3 times total. It's been about a week and a half since I felt anything. My Dr. said, it's really not until 24-25 weeks that you can feel almost every movement.

I had a day at work where I didn't feel the baby move and I flipped out. Luckily I work at a hospital and my co-workers monitored the heart rate to make sure everything was ok. I think we all tend to worry about our little ones.

Thanks everyone. I am so glad that Im not the only one that worries so much. I actually do have a doppler and I use it a lot, but just cause his heart is beating doesnt always calm my worries for some reason. I worry that he is wrapped up in the cord or something so he cant move much or that my uterus isnt growing big enough like it should, dumb worries I know. I think its just hard when I got used to him moving so much and then at 21 weeks or so it just stopped. It wasnt nearly as frequent or as strong as before. I have a doc appt on tuesday so Im going to talk to her about it then.

Another crazy thing that I have been worrying about is because others who as far along as me have been saying that their bellies feel heavy or that they feel a lot differant. I dont! Its deffinatly bigger than it used to be but I dont feel like there is a little body inside there, you know? Just crazy thoughts, this all started like 2 weeks ago, I must be going through a crazy hormone time or something:wacko:

Yes Wobbles this is my first... So I think that plays into it as well because I have no idea what to expect!

My baby tends to be quiet during the day when I get a few kicks here and there, but at night...I swear the baby is having a party in my belly because it is sooooo active, and I sometimes wonder if there is such a thing as an overly active baby???

I have a doppler aswell which is great, cost me £100 though from Ana Wiz, as for the movements, each baby develops a different pattern hun so try and not worry, if you do feel you need to see someone then contact your MW or GP

Don't worry babe it is very natural to worry we all do/did it! As long as you are feeling movement at this stage, that is good.....it will not be long before you start feeling LO a lot more, then that should set your mind at rest! x

Thanks girls:) Hopefully he starts moving more. I try not to judge his well being on movement but its hard because other than the doppler thats the only way of being sure he is still ok in there. He was moving a decent amount this morning, so many people say that their babies move so much at night and mine is totally quiet, I cant sleep well anymore so I pay attention to his movements at night and there are barely any if any that I notice.

Im sure everything is fine. I think another problem is that I was on antidepressants for anxiety before pregnancy and I cant take them now that Im pregnant so I think its my body fighting back and being more anxious without them... I dont know.

But thanks everyone!

Hope your worries go away soon hun! I have anxiety problems as well and it has not been easy at times!

Thanks luckyme! I get so frustrated with the anxiety, it keeps me up at night a lot. My doc said if it gets really bad that we can put me on something but that its best for baby to go without. I am hoping that it calms down soon.

My doctor says try to sit in a quite place and relax for 15 minutes... doesn't seem to work for me lol. The whole time my minds wondering about everything.
