hi just wanted to share..#

this is my first pregnancy and when I asked the midwife about symtpoms she said

'if you dont feel pregnant, you'll know something is wrong'..

:dohh: :dohh:

how the hell would i know FEEL pregnant??? I was only 6 weeks...

That is not very good advice to me. Alot of women have no symptoms at all and are pregnant. Every women is different. That is very bad advice.

LOL! What an idiot! She obviously meant if you lose whatever symptoms you may be having but what a tactless way to put it!!

Not being funny but is your midwife qualified? I only ask because it's hardly a standard comment for someone of her profession to be throwing around?! I can't give you any reason why she said that honey, but can say ignore it. It'll only put worries in your mind that needn't be there!

9/10 your body physically lets you know something is wrong through pain/bleeding & really she shouldn't be saying such things to you.

Keep positive sweetheart!

:hugs:

I got told something similar after my D & C following a MMC a few years ago.

The nurse said that i should have noticed something wrong when symptoms stated disappearing!

SO this time i have panicked all the way through because i have hardly any symptoms. Just can't wait for the scan in 2 weeks to put my mind at rest. xx

I had a private early scan yesterday thinking i was 6 weeks (due to previous m/c) and the women told me she couldnt see the sac because the baby cant have implanted yet.......

However on looking it up and speaking to the doctor today.... to have a positive pregnancy test the fertilized egg has to have implanted else you do not release the HCG hormone!!!! So she had me thinking my poor little egg was just floating around in there when infact i am just 5 weeks and its far to early to see anything!!!!!!!

Couldnt believe that she told me that!

xx

Oh I'm not worried. Have quite a philosophical attitude to this pregnancy business. Some midwife won't shake my confidence.

She's actually lOvely but did rush me out of office NHS of course, too busy for a pregnant woman. My GP was worse! He looked flustered and unsure as to what to do next haa

My mother had 8 kids without technology and symptoms. I'll trust her judgement.
