Would love a great Choc or Vanilla Sponge REcipe

Sounds stupid but i am not really a baker. I have made bread a few times so im proud of yself but its my sister 21st birthday and my partners 25th in 3 weeks.

So wanted to make them each a cake but can someone give me a tried and tested and truly scumptious recipe hehe xx

using a basic fairy cake recipe u can make any size cake by just doubling the amount.
mix together 4oz sugar and 4oz of butter or marg
beat 2 eggs and then add to the mix
then mix in 4oz of self raising flour

these messurments fill out one circle cake tin

cook on 190 for about 20 mins, to test tap the top of the cake, if it springs back up its done. it if sinks put it back in the oven for a futher 5 mins. again depends on the size.

to make the cake chocolate u can add 1oz of coco powder or u can add melted milk chocolate to the mix and it makes the sponge very creamy
