Would this offend you?

Ohh this is soo rude and I am very sensitive about the fact that I couldn't BF so I don't know how I would of reacted if something like this would of happened to me.

i would be very offended and deffo complain what buisness is it of theres? :hissy:

i get it all the time of HV's etc is he BF 'no' was there a problem trying to establish BF 'no i never tried i just didnt want to thats my choice' and the look on there faces its like im starving him to death or something.

Yes!!!

Even more so because he was a man

Thanks everyone! I am still upset about it. We are back to the Pediatrician on Thursday so I'm going to bring it up then. Might not be the same one but I will mention it when I'm there xx

Yes I would of been offended too!! They shouldn't even ask why he wasn't BF what a d**k!! All of us FF mummies know the benefits of BF but sometimes it's hard, and him being a doctor should know that! Arghh people like that get me so mad!! I would definatly complain, there was no need to say 'i recommend bla bla' cos like u said you can't exactly start it back up again so it's like he had said it to make u feel bad, idiot. Xx

That would get me really mad seem so half of these HV's don't even have kids!

I would have went insane if he said that to me. Never would I see this doctor again. Sorry hun!
BTW I am NOT planning to breastfeed the babe I am carrying right now. My first was formula fed, milk didn't come in quick enough and since have had a breast reduction + lift too. I know it would be hard for me plus I am not upset about not breastfeeding my first, not even going to try. Already told a nurse I will be formula feeding and she told me I could still try. I DON'T WANT TO TRY DAMMIT! So aggravating.

November 1984 - you are entitled to feed your baby how you wish :p Just say no, calmly, then repeat, over and over again for as long as necessary. They'll get the message eventually. What I don't understand is why people feel they have the right to tell others what to do with their bodies and babies. If they want to BF/FF it's up to them, if they want to co-sleep, use cloth nappies etc all up to them.. each to their own. We respect others members of societies decisions but with Mothers it seems any one is allowed to have their two cents worth even if it has absolutely nothing to do with them (ie male doctor who is never going to breast feed) It's so rude! makes me mad X

Geez, how rude was that doc!! i mean my lo has a reflux problem now, i bf for 10 weeks and then ff but they never had a go at stopping, i just couldnt keep up and he was always on my boob! now i know why hes so hungry!

but going back i cant believe how calm u was, i would of thrown a tantrum xx

I would most definitely be offended.
Asking what method you're using to feed him is understandable, but to ask questions further as to why you're doing what you're doing is non of the doctor's business!
I would have snapped!

No it wouldn't. He's telling the truth, breast milk IS better for our LOs. Maybe he just pricked your conscience huh?

I think you're missing the point. Your comments on conscience are extremely offensive and unnecessary.:growlmad:

Wow first post and it is rude, horrible and uncalled for.

I would be pissed off hun and I owuld have told him where to shove his 'opinion' :hugs:
xx

Guys, don't feed the troll! Just report it, they'll be banned, and we can all move on with our lives while they go off to be sad and pathetic somewhere else!

I would have probaby cried as I tried to breast feed my dd and we only managed a week, I had to put her onto formula as she stopped latching on, I dont know why....I spent 2 days crying non stop because of it, I would have been deeply offended by that, possily would have walked out too and asked for another dr.....

I would have been offended hun. I send LO with formula to my mum's when OH and I want a couple of hours out together, does it make me a bad mum? No! It isn't his business or his choice to make. If Mum and baby are happy FF then why do people insist on weighing in with their (sometimes very rude) opinion?
