had ginger hair? OH doesn't have any red headed relatives so I don't think it's very likely that this will happen.

The name is gorgeous but if it was me & my baby was born with red hair i would purposely NOT use that name & go for something different. x

The problem is the hair color at birth is not necessarily the hair color in a few months let alone as an adult. As many mothers will attest...it can completely change! Love the name Scarlett btw!

I love the name Scarlett, it was on my list :)

I wouldn't think anything if the child had red hair...I'd probably think what a lucky coincidence! Its cute  x

Love the name it was on my list if i was having a girl. I wouldn't think nothing of it if child was to have red hair!

No id think it was cute, I know an Amber who is ginger, shes sooo cute . xx

I know a little girl called Scarlett who had beautiful red hair and freckles, it reallhy suited her :) xxx

It probably wouldn't occur to me as I am used to seeing Scarlett as a name and think of it less as a colour. However if it did occur to me or was pointed out I would find it cute and wonder if the parents choose the name for that reason.

Yup...my OH was ginger at birth/for the first few weeks, then went blonde!

I think it would suit a red haired girl more! cute!

Agreed :)

I had the same thoughts becoz i like Ruby but there is a high chance that my baby will have red/ginger hair. Then a friend joked Ruby Red Head and now i'm not so sure!!!

If a little girl had red hair I would assume that the parents had called her that because of it, rather than despite it. All my family are red heads and if we had a red haired little boy we were considering Rowan as it means little red one. x

Who knows with a name like Scarlett she might decide to dye her hair red anyway! I love the name, it's so feisty!

If you got the name from the most famous Scarlett in Gone with the Wind she is actually Katy-Scarlett, so you could go with that and call her Scarlett. Then if she is a red-head and hates it she can change to being Katy.

But I like it as a name, no matter what her hair colour is.

Lovely name:happydance:

As you can see from my ticker my LO is also going to be scarlett!

My daughter was born with a red tinge to her hair... it all fell out and is growing back white blonde. I know If I loved Scarlet enough I would use it regardless of my childs hair colour, especially considering she is no longer strawberry blonde, but I though she was going to be, if that makes sense lol
xx
