If anyone gives you any grief about Corbin, point them to
a: the ravens at the Tower of London, which hold the luck of Britain. This is originally because the legendary king Bran the Blessed (Bran is Welsh for 'crow' or 'raven') was supposed to be buried in the mound on which the Tower of London was built.
b: Odin's ravens in Norse mythology, which bring him the knowledge and wisdom of the world.
c: the god Raven in Native American mythology, who is one of the main benevolent gods, and, if I have this correctly, granted the gift of fire to mankind.
My Judaeo-Christian theology may be a little shaky, but I can't offhand think of any major problems with ravens in the Bible, either: I'm fairly sure one of the major Old Testament prophets was befriended by ravens in the wilderness.
