WTT and new

Girl I know EXACTLY how you feel!! I am 23 and have been with my husband since we were in high school. I have been waiting to get pregnant for 6 years. The older I get, the more i appreciate the time i have waited to get my life in order with my husband. I do have my bachelors degree in special education and I am prek teacher (5 years)... My husband and I still have goals we want to meet before we have kids, and I think that is key.. we have to keep busy and bettering ourselves seems to be a great way to do it!!! Like my husband was a lube tech at a mechanic shop so now he is doing his asc tests so he can be a master tech before we move up north where our family is.... I have to take 4 state tests and get certified in special ed, prek primary, elementary, prof... with more stuff too... next year i hope to have a teaching job in the public school system (more money)....

I hope this helps, just make goals for your husband and yourself while you wait!!! Finish your degree girl! You will be so glad when its over, and time will FLY!!! :)

p.s. I have those feelings that I cannot control... crying bc my brothers teenage gf is pregnant... my husbands neice got pregnant at 17.... i know... but one day it will be our turn and it will be AWSOME!

I hear the "you're too young" phrase all too much. Sometimes I feel too young, but I don't want to wait too long. @everdreaming I know what you mean. I talk to people and they ask me how old I am and they are shocked to hear that I'm only 20 because of how I speak and carry myself. I always seem older. *sighs* Gotta love being responsible, huh?

I find it really frustrating! Being younger doesn't automatically mean I love to drink constantly, take drugs, go out on the town all night etc etc - even at uni I don't know many people who behave that way  I don't think it makes me any less likely to be a better mother than a 30 year old!

Responsibility bites :dohh:

Absolutely! Personally, I can't stand that scene. I MIGHT accept a drink once or twice, and chances are I won't finish it. I just don't want to let it affect me the same way it did my mom. I won't go through THAT again.

Motherhood has nothing to do with physical age, IMO, it has to do with maturity. Of course teen pregnancy is a little questionable because they're still growing and learning (aren't we all though?).

Ooo, I feel your annoyance on the "but you're so young" comments. You'll tune it out eventually, I started getting broody when I was 21 and people said that to me all the time. I'm 26 and I still hear it sometimes! Which is nuts, cause I would like more than one child so I better get started soon, IMO, lol.

I'm in the same situation, almost. With my family history, I don't have much of a shelf-life on my uterus. My mom ended up with Cervical Cancer (or something similar) and had to have her "factory closed" as she calls it. And she was only like 30...

SO yeah. I want at least 2 or 3 kids, but I don't want them too close together in age.
