We are currently waiting until January to officially TTC. But knowing I am in my fertile period right now is consuming my every thought.

We have used the 'pull out' method for birth control for many years and it has worked so far. I was planning tonight to initiate DTD but leaving it up to DH if he wanted to pull out at the end. I know DTD once in a cycle doesn't give me huge chances of getting pregnant but I just want a chance.

Has anyone else jumped the gun on WTT as waiting is just so hard?

We are waiting until January to TTC as DH is currently in school full time until September 2020, so we were planning a fall baby when he was back to work full time. So there is a good reason to wait but I actually don't really want a fall baby as we have sooooo many birthday's in our family from Sept-Dec. So I'm trying to change DH's mind, if we have a summer baby it will be difficult financially for a couple months but then birthdays and life moving forward will be easier. I know this is between DH and I but needed to get some thoughts out there. Thanks for listening to me.

Update: We went for it. I won't be too upset if AF shows in a couple weeks but at least there is a chance this month.

I guess we can officially put us in TTC or NTNP categories.

Good luck to everyone WTT, it's not easy to wait for something like this.

Hi,

I hope you don't mind me joining here as I am in the same situation you were back then.

Congratulations BTW xx

WTT in 2021 quickly changed course as I couldn't wait and getting pregnant tthis month meant I could have the baby end of May when my exams for college have finished and a 3month break over the summer at home.

I have a period tracker app and it says I should ovulate this Monday coming, we have been DTD almost every second day this week. Planning on everyday over the weekend and OH travels away for work on Monday.

Although all the circumstances aren't perfect, I'm so happy we are now TTC baby #1. OH and I have been together for 2.5 years, always said we would wait for me because he's been ready for the last while.

I'm 28, OH 39 he has a DD who just turned 18 from a previous relationship.

How are you finding your way through pregnancy and life in general now that you have your baby otw

Hi Becomeamum,

Congratulations on starting your TTC journey, it's an exciting time.

It took us about 4 months of trying to conceive. This pregnancy has been the hardest so far, physically on my body. I was 24-26 years old with my other two children and 33 now... so I'm still young but I feel older lol. The morning sickness was worse and lasted until 14-16 weeks and then my body started with the aches and pains a lot sooner, around 26 weeks. I'm 32 weeks now and can't wait to be done lol.

Don't get me wrong, I'm so excited and happy to be expecting... it's just been a more difficult ride this time around. I'm also happy to have older children who are just as excited to meet their little brother... my oldest son is 8 and my daughter is 6.

I recommend the Fertility Friend App... it was always the most accurate for me. I also took my basil body temperature (BBT) every morning to pinpoint ovulation, then i'd load the information into the app. It was spot on for ovulation every time. I also recommend joining the Two Week Wait group on this site (TWW) ... you join in for each month that you are waiting around to test... the ladies on that group are a great encouragement and all in the same place as you.

Just remember that TTC takes time... even a perfect and healthy body can take several months to conceive. Also, there is never a perfect time. We conceived back in early February, right before all the COVID stuff hit our area... if we'd not conceived that month we might have waited awhile longer. But everything works out the way it does and you make the best of it.

I wish you the best of luck! Keep me updated if you can :)

Thank you so much for your really nice reply, it really uplifted my mood as we were having difficulties with communicating whilst he's working away atm. Which is testing at times but something every relationship goes through I suppose. Ups and downs, trials and trivials of life eh.

Awh you're so close, when is your due date? I love that the older ones will be there for support for you also, like getting to nip to the bathroom on your own will be a blessing while they keep an eye on bubs [-o< lol.

I have a period tracker app. Called 'my calender' which has all my data stored for over a year now so I'm hoping ovulation period was correctly set and DTD X3 week leading upto O. Unfortunately OH had to return accros country for work a day prior to O day. But fingers crossed, who knows?

I'm returning to my third level education now soon but because of covid it's all online so I'll be home for most of the year chilled out and hopefully cooking my baby. Was worried about being hasty like yourself as our current circumstances arent exactly ideal living in a one bedroom flat but I think everyone starts out Somehwere and all will fall into place as it should. Trusting that and trying not to fall into ego based thoughts that I'm looking at the situation very naively hahaha.

Anyway I took your amazing advice and joined the two week wait group. I'm so greatful for these online threads to share experiences with so many like minded others.

Blessings to you and your family Xx

After I had my first son I always knew we would have at least one more child. After my daughter was born our financial situation was tough. So after being home for 3 years with my kids I started looking for jobs... I couldn't find anything that would pay me more than the cost of daycare so I decided to go back to school for 2 years. I did this in 2015-2017... then I've been working for the past 3 years. So we didn't intentionally want a large age gap between our 2nd and 3rd children but we were busy with our lives and I honestly thought we were done. Plus, we needed to move as our 2 bedroom house was too small. We moved to a bigger house a couple years ago and then last fall I got the baby itch randomly lol. I thought my husband would say no... but he didn't! So anyway here we are. To answer your question, I really don't know if we will have anymore kids after this one. I think we take it one child at a time and see how finances and life are like in a couple more years and we will decide. However, I have always pictured myself with 4 kids... but mentally and physically that's a lot for us, so we will just go one at a time.

The baby's due date is Oct 17th. However, I've never made it to 40 weeks before, so I'm just hoping to go as far as possible. I am lucky to have pretty healthy pregnancies but my daughter was born at 36 weeks and my son at 38 weeks... due to water breaking. So I'm hoping I can make it to the end of Sept. Also, my second (daughter) was a c-section because she was breech... so I'm hoping for a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean), but we will see how that goes. This baby's delivery will also determine if I can/want anymore kids... another c-section would mean more risks to baby #4.

Oh and a TTC tip... try having sex the day or two after O... I had a couple times when I thought I'd ovulated but my body was just a day or two behind. I also find the best day to time sex is the day or two before O and 1 after. So there are lots of sperm ready to go for when that egg drops. I've never used the ovulation strips and only done the BBT (basil body temperature)... but doing one or the other will help you pin point Ovulation. My cycles were anywhere from 26-29 days long, so ovulation day varied month to month.

I'm glad you like the TTC group here, there are some really nice ladies on those threads. Unfortunately there are some ladies still trying from when I was on those threads back last fall.

Have a nice day!

Congratulations on ure pregnancy.
Not long for u to go now.
Im 40 and ttc for 6 months. Ive had 3 chemicals since April this ttc sure is not as much fun as I thought it was going to be.
We have a son almost a year old and I fell with him rite away when I just turned 39.
Was hoping this time around wud be the same but nope.
Wud loved to of given it longer but with being almost 41 and hubby being 45 I didn't want to take a chance in leaving it to long.
Hopfully I will get my rainbow soon.
Good luck with the birth and everything.
My whole pregnancy with my son absolutely flew by so fast. The 3rd tri was gone in a blink of a eye and now he's nearly 1 year old. It all goes by far to quickly.
Do u know what u are having?

My next baby if there is one will prob be my last so ive decided I want to stay team yellow.
Just need to get there first.
