Hey everyone :)

So I just married the man of my dreams and were keen for kids but not just yet - wanting to get the house first. A few years ago I was diagnosed with borderline PCOS but I get a regular period once a month and don't have many of the symptoms. When I was told the news by my doctor I was so upset and thought I would never have kids. And I guess we won't really know until we start trying. I'm only 25 but want to start trying soon incase it's worst case scenario and do need help. Anyone in a similar boat? x

Hello!
I haven't been diagnosed with anything because I haven't had any symptoms which bother me.. but I have really long cycles - 6-8weeks. I temped for a few months and it does seem like I'm ovulating. I am concerned we might have fertility issues.. but I'm too apprehensive to rush into it as well.
I've been waiting for a few years after marriage to get all the big items crossed off our list.. now we're WTT because we're a bit nervous about the lifestyle change. Seems like it will happen sometime next year.. we've set a tentative date. What about you? Any specific date you're looking at to start trying?

Hey there Sarbear! I know the feeling. We just started TTC, but decided to WTT about a year and a half ago until we got the whole wedding/marriage/house stuff all settled. I think it's a great idea, and at the end of the day, I think everyone TTC is worried about their fertility and how long it'll take. Setting good timelines to accomplish your pre-baby goals is important, and taking the time to learn more about your cycles in advance. Temping and charting tells you so much doesn't it!

I also think discussing the "what ifs" now can be helpful if you're the planning type. How long you'll try before you see a specialist. Would you consider IVF? How many rounds? How much money would you spend TTC? Would you consider adoption? Would your husband consider a sperm donor? Would you guys consider an egg donor? A surrogate? Opt not to raise children? How long would you try before considering alternatives?

For me, I found knowing how we each felt about these questions helps a ton with the nerves.

Hey Skycastles,
Yeah defs know the feeling of wanting to tick things off the list! I just got offered a new job and I start in a few weeks... We want to save for a house first so maybe in the next 12-18 months we might start trying. Don't want to leave it too late

Also know the feeling, and though not diagnosed with anything like PCOS, I do have a few health issues, and would really like to start TTC our first within the next year to year and a half (I'm 25 almost 26 at moment). our polyamorous commitment ceremony/wedding is in 11 months, that's the biggest milestone we want to hit first, along with saving a bit more money for baby and house repairs - otherwise we'd probably cave completely and start trying now!
