I don't really see why you are annoyed tbh.
I don't understand why anyone would put a cot in a room for very occasional use when they could make full use of the room using it as something else, in this case a study.

I think it's expecting a little much to expect them to have a three bed house and dedicate two rooms to your children. Their children are grown up now and their home is theirs to decorate as they please.
My parents refuse to have our two children point blank. My mother says she'd have one but not both as she feels she's too old to cope with two young children now. It's up to her, I would never presume anything.
Let it go. It sounds like they already help a lot and you're expecting too much
