Yolk sac and g. sac..is this a good sign..Please Answer

Hey everyone. I went in about 2 weeks ago at 5 weeks and 6 days and had a vaginal ultrasound. They saw a gestational sac and a yolk sac, but couldn't see the embryo yet. Is it a good sign that they saw the yolk sac? Please help me, I go in tomorrow and I am so nervous!

Everything could still be ok as that is too early to see a heartbeat, why did you have a scan that early? were you bleeding?

A LOT can happen in the space of 2wks tho hun so you could be pleasantly suprised by how much your LO has grown at your next scan.

I had a miscarriage last year so they wanted to go ahead early and make sure everything is progressing like it should.

If you haven't had any bleeding or anything the odds are very good that you will see a healthy little baby at your scan tomorrow & it was just too early to see anything last time hun.

I had an early scan at about 5+ and they could only see the sac and yolk which I was told was completely normal. It wasnt until I went back 2 wks later to be re-scaned they found the baby and a HB.

If you look through my threads you will see this happened to me too.

I had scan at 5weeks 6 days and saw empty 6mm sac - not even yolk. I was terrified went back 8 days later and there was a baby with a heartbeat!

I had the same as Pork Pie and with the Blighted Ovum you usually get nothing just a gestational sac so I think what you have sounds very good it's probably just early days, maybe you caught later than you thought hun.

I had a scan last week and they could only see the yolk sac (i thought i was 6+3) then i went in for another scan on Tuesday and they could see a tiny heartbeat at 2.1mm, they said i was only 5+4. So when you go back in 2 weeks you will see a heartbeat!

I think you will be fine as they only expect to see a yolk sac around 5 wks 3 days. I didnt even see that then. I think sometimes different people see different things at different rates. Please keep us updated

I went in on Friday and had my 7 week 6 day scan and we saw and heard the heartbeat!!! WOO HOO!

Yes it can happen. Ultrasounds vary and can be off a few days to a week. I went at 6.1 weeks with my 3rd daughter and all I saw was a yolk sac and gestational sac. It measured me about 5 weeks and the doctor told me my dates were wrong. When i went for another scan the baby was correct with my dates. it also depends on the babies development. every baby developes at a different speed. My 3rd daughter is 21 months old now. Heres hoping for a healthy pregnancy! Gl
