Your nursery?

So when are you ladies starting to decorate the nursery? I don't want to start until I am about 30 weeks, but my DH and BFF think I should start much sooner. The problem is, I am really freaked out by the idea of buying all the furniture, and such.

I'm very overwhelmed, but excited at the same time. My stepmother gave me a couple of baby things when I went home to NY a few weeks ago and it really freaked me out...Im not buying anything major until after my 20 week scan and were planning to keep the baby in our bedroom for a few months anyways, so I'll just put off the actual transformation of the spare bedroom to a nursery a little later...

We are, also, keeping the baby in our bedroom for the first couple of months, so I am holding off on setting up a huge nursery right now except for a few major things like a changing table and so on. We are waiting until after our sex scan (which is Friday) to start decorating, as we want to know whether it will be a boy or girl. I think it's all up to you whenever you feel ready to start decorating. Don't let anyone rush or make the decision for you!

Were renting our house, and luckily our spare room is decorated as a nursery already. Just need to buy stuff to put in it!

I want baby to be in our room the first 6th months because it will be more convenient with breastfeeding! So we probably won't do squat until after babies 3 months!!

Ditto on the baby being with us for the first few months. We will be doing the nursery before the baby gets here though, my father-in-law is recently retiring and he's all gaga about another baby . So he can't wait til he can come over and start painting the spare room and stuff.

Well I know I do not want the baby in our room, but it is nice to know I am not alone in feeling overwhelmed and a bit freaked out.

Well, we've got a room for baby's stuff but we'll be co-sleeping in the family bed indefinitely.
I couldn't wait to get everything for the room, I'm not decorating though - the walls have illustrations I did myself and I don't want to paint over it!

Oh noooooo you're not alone! I'm freaked out so much, I look like a deer in headlights every time I walk into a baby stuff aisle!

I figure we'll start the nursery after the New year, as Christmas time is way too chaotic. We'll be doing co-sleeping as well for the first few months, but I'd like to get the nursery out of the way before bubs arrives anyhow.

Im sooooooo excited about getting the nursery ready!!

Hopefully my OH will decorate it after the scan in Jan like he promised too, then we'll buy all the furniture after thats all done, then start filling up the room with baby goodies !!

I think I'm a little bit to excited actually lol

We are going to start buying stuff after the holidays. Too much going on right now. My sister is coming in March to help paint. I'll be about 30 weeks by then.

We put the cot up just after the 20 week scan. Suppose I wanted to be organised.

That is the odd thing BB, I am one of the MOST organized people. I always plan way ahead, and really do my research. But now, I am suddenly frozen. I spoke to my mother earlier and she wants to go baby shopping when she comes down for the holidays.

Think I will start just after the new year. I should be about 32 weeks by then. I have everything now but it's just a matter of puttin it all in it's propoer place.

I found a great crib and changing table on Ebay in my state, so we're going to go pick it up this coming weekend. I have a crib set (with fire trucks of course!) arriving tomorrow. We're not painting until spring when the weather will permit us to open windows, but within a week and a half the nursery should be all set up and ready to go besides paint. I hate to leave things until the last minute so everything has to be done super early!

My mommy is buying all my bedding and stuff for me so we are waiting until she gets that. His sister gave us a baby bed and changing table that she wants to keep in the family (and she isn't having anymore + ours is the next baby in the family) so we pretty much have everything/are getting everything.
We are keeping him in our room for the first few months so my mother really isn't in a hurry though. However, my BF is; and wants to paint the room already

We have decided on the decoration and the furniture for the nursery but are holding off buying any of it until the end of Jan, when I'll be around 30 weeks. I just dont want to tempt fate!

We are starting our nursery after Christmas.......the only difference is, our little boy is 10 months old In all fairness, we did do it when I was pg but complications with the house arose, so we have to start again!

We are going to have the baby in a cosleeper for a few months too, but now that we know its a boy we are starting to buy things for the room and I want to get it all decorated and ready before I get too big to do anything! So we are going to start buying the crib, changing table and all that stuff after Christmas, so by then I will be about 24-25 weeks.
