Noononono, I'm a very laid back parent but the thought makes me shudder! I really can't imagine it would work with bigger kids who are more aware anyway, I know Lucas would go batshit if I left him in a strange room and fecked off.
I find people tend to be reeaally easy-going when it's not their kid too (or maybe that's just me, the only experience I have of leaving Lucas with someone other than family was a friend's partner who I found out just strapped him in his pushchair, dumped him infront of the telly and went to bed
).
It might just be me but the family dining sounds great! It'd probably be a bit hectic but as someone else mentioned, kids have a habit of eating better around other kids for some reason. Could you get room service when the little ones are asleep one night?
