Hi
i just need some advise please.
MyLO is 8 week old now and has started to doze off when feeding. He feeds for 10 mins then dozes off.
I know LO dont feed as long when they get older but he is only 8 weeks. Is 10 mins enough or should i be waking him.
Thanks for your help x:cloud9:

my LO falls asleep all the time ;/ probably why she uses me as a dummy, i try wake her as much as poss unless shes realy tired, its then the only way she'll settle :( x

i remember when my mw came round in the early days she told me 20 minutes was a very good feed and i always used that as a guideline. i'd still say 10 minutes is pretty good. have you tried gently shaking him or your boob to remind him to feed? how many times a day do you feed him? he might start stretching longer and taking bigger feeds. Remember tho every baby is different. u could always get him weighed every 2 weeks or so to put your mind at rest x

Max used to be like this , Id shake the boob in his mouth and he'd wake up to feed another 5 min or so

There are no rules when you BF on demand. Sounds fine to me! :hugs:

leyla sometimes feeds for 10mins, im usually paranoid thats not enough though so i lay her down and if she stays asleep then great but more often than not she will wake up for another 10mins, we keep doing that until she stays asleep or just sits calmly, then i know she's had enough :)

x

I change Finn nappy and try again but sometimes he really does just want a quick snack. I think he makes up for it later though with a 3 course dinner at the next feed!
