After 10 months of no luck (using CBFM, temping, and preseed) I went on amazon and got a 100 pack of cheepy OPKs and a sperm check test. Got my very first positive on an OPK- woo hoo! I was super excited about this cycle but the home sperm count test... It works like an OPK where the line has to be as dark as the control line to mean there's a decent sperm count... DH didn't even have a faint line show up :( Im glad the problem isn't me (I had been on birth control for 10 years before I stopped a year ago and my cycles are FINALY predictable) but now what do I do about my DH? How do we improve his count? I'm going to test tomorrow morning but this is the first month I haven't had one single symptom... Nothing! I usually obsess over every twinge and feeling but I haven't felt a darn thing to obsess over this month. So I guess I'll just obsess over sperm count :)

I certainly wouldn't rely on those on home sperm tests. They r not accurate nd have been wrong many many times. Also there is more to a man's sperm than just the count, there is morph nd motility as well. I suggest that he goes to the doctor nd gets a proper test done.

Oh I know, I've read all about but he's always known he's had a problem. I don't mean to air his dirty laundry on here lol but he was married before and tried for years with no results- then she cheated on him and got pregnant right away. Then he had a gf afterwards... Same sad story. So it's probably correct- we have to rely on the home test though because he's super embarrassed or something a REFUSES to have a doctor check. No amount of guilt trips was able to change his mind. So I'm just hoping to get advice on increasing count. Is there anything over the counter or vitamins/ diet that helps?

WOW!!! Congrats! :) what a handful :p

If no line whatsoever I'd say its pretty severe maybe even azoospermia, worst case scenario if no sperm are present in semen they can sometimes extract it directly from testicles for ivf.

:( I think we're going to do everything we can at home for 6 months then try IUI maybe. I read they can concentrate the sperm then do the incemination and its not that expensive. We'll see. Super discouraging though

As much as u r bummed about it all hon, try nd remain positive for ur hubby's sake as he must feel dreadful about it. We no how it feels if/when there is something wrong with our women's parts, a man is the same.

Once you know what the problem is its easier to fix :)
Just tell him no smoking/ drinking/ fatty foods/ hot baths/ laptop on lap/ cell phone in pocket/ long drives/ cycling/ drugs and he needs to get some regular exercise and maintain a healthy weight.

Holy. Crap. I got a faint line this morning... On 6 tests!!! I guess he had some swimmers after all! I was so used to seeing BFN now I don't know what to do now that its positive! I can't believe this!!! almost a year later and I thought it would never happen! Go figure the month I don't feel any symptoms at all is the winning month! I think I'm going to crash google today!

Clear blue test I just took now- nothing faint about this one!!!

When do I call for a doctors appt? Found on google everything from "right away" to "wait 8 weeks"

I did right away, but my pregnancy is high risk as I had ds at 29 weeks.

There is no harm in making the appt and talking to your dr.

Congratulations xx
