Snowman Soup Recipe and Poem for Easy, Fun Gift Giving!
Snowman soup is really nothing more than a gift featuring a cup of hot chocolate with some marshmallows and other treats inside (the snowman pieces you'll be melting in your "soup") and a special poem to make it more fun. So making Snowman Soup doesn't require any great culinary skill. It's a fun and easy gift for Christmas or other winter celebrations. Here's the Snowman soup recipe and poem(s) that you can attach to the gift mug.
Snowman Soup Recipe
Make a plain cup of hot chocolate more festive!
Snowman Soup Recipe
Ingredients
1 pkg hot chocolate mix
2 Hershey's Kisses for the eyes
1 Hershey's Hugs for the nose
10-12 mini marshmallows for the snowballs
1 peppermint candy cane (alternate: cinnamon stick)
Directions
Place hot cocoa package, Hershey's Kisses and mini marshmallows in a plastic bag or cellophane wrap and put in the bottom of a mug. Add the candy cane stick or tape it to the outside of the mug. Then add one of the Snowman Soup poems. You can either tie it to the candy cane or stuff it inside the cup. That's it! Your gift is ready!
Snowman Soup Poems
Including one I wrote myself!
I found several snowman soup poems on the web, but none of them mentioned what the ingredients had to do with "snowman soup." So I wrote my own. (I originally published this on HubPages in an article titled "Snowman Soup Recipe and Poem.") I'm sure I won't win any poetry contests with it, but at least it helps explain what all the pieces are!
Snowman Soup Poem #1 by lisadh
Frosty has melted.
It's sad but true.
But he left a gift for you.
Little white snowballs
And two dark eyes.
And a nose that's quite tasty.
Just give it a try.
Pour the package in the mug.
And add the eyes and nose.
Use the candy stick to stir.
Then sip it very slow!
(Variation: If you're using a cinnamon stick instead of candy cane to stir, you can suggest the cinnamon stick or sticks (I'd add two) are arms and change the last section to this:
Pour the package in the mug.
And add the eyes and nose.
Use the cinnamon arms to stir
And sip it very slow!
Snowman Soup Poem #2
When it's so cold that
you holler and whoop,
It's time to bring out
the Snowman Soup!
Pour the packet in a mug.
Add the marshmallows too.
And throw in these kisses
that are special just for you.
Snowman Soup Poem
When the weather outside is frightful,
Snowman Soup can be delightful.
May it warm your spirit and your soul.
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
When you feel a chill or are saying "brrrr,"
Use the candy cane stick to stir.
Add hot water and sip it slow.
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
