My ds is 12 days old and for the last couple days he wants to eat almost every 1-2hours hes formula fed and will easily drink 4oz at a time and up to 10 bottles in 24 hours is this normal? I read they have a growth spurt around this time. Before this he was drinking around 4oz every 4 hours 6-7 bottles a day

What would he do if instead of you feeding him when he cries, you put him in the pram and go for a walk or go out in the car? Obviously not every time lol but it may just hold him off a feed for an hour or so.

I used to feed my baby all the time. Every 2 hours he would want a bottle. Or so I thought... Until I did what I just said above. I realised I could distract him for a little longer and infact he didnt need that much milk.

But if not then I guess you just have a greedy milk monster :) xx

my baby is just opposite...she drinks more milk when she goes outside because she gets tired more watching things outside and needs more milk...

Does your LO have a dummy? I used to give Logan a dummy when I thought he was hungry.. If he was actually hungry he's spit the dummy out - I'd give him 4 chances before getting the bottle. A lot of the time he just wanted something to suck on this could be the case? But he eats every 3-4 hrs so I know that if he wants something before its usually the dummy unless he didn't finish his bottle lol.
He's alway been a big eater though he was along 5oz every 3-4hrs at a week. Now takes 8oz hungry milk every 3-4hr lol!
We only just switched milks though. I wouldn't recommend that until he's drinking more oz in one feed xx

I agree with op my little one sometimes seems hungry but actually just wants to suck something i think he gets comfort from it so we give him a dummy and try and get him to go 3 hours.
I try not to give him more than 120/130mls even tho i make 150ml bottles cos i dont know how many scoops i need to use for 130mls its 4 for 120 and 5 for 150 but how many for 130mls? half? quarter of a scoop? its easier just to make 150mls but i know if he takes it all then he will throw up after but wont (as much) if he has 120mls if that makes sense! :)

Removed I read your post wrong hehe x

If he's happy after his feeds and not fussy or spitting up, then continue feeding as he dictates.

I agree with keep feeding on demand. If he didnt want it he would vomit it back. As you say its probably a growth spurt and will steady down in a few days.

Thanks for the replys i do always offer a dummy first but he always spits it out and just screams till i feed him. Hopefully its just a growth spurt then
