12week scan-The sex??

i very much doubt youd get told the sex at 12 week, i think youve been misinformed.

yes some hospitals dont tell the sex because of the link between certain ethnic groups and abortion rates.
but now a days if you have a spare 50£ you can find out the sex off of your own back so the policy is a bit dated.

All that you will see at 12 weeks is the nub, I know you can pay privatly to find out the sex at 16 weeks but as far as I am aware 20 weeks is when you will be told.

I had a very good picture of my baby at the 12 week scan as there is no way you could make out what sex it was.

It might be an idea to buy one of the pregnancy magazines, they are really good and give you loads of info about how the baby is developing each week. Its where I learnt most things, i'm 27 and I didn't know much either! I'm a super wizz now after using this site and reading pregnancy books.

Hey it's okay i'm probably just paranoid..my hormones are everywhere atm and i'm stressed out being told different things..maybe your not worng but i rang midwife today and she saying it depends on the hospital....i'm so damn confused i wish i cud get straight answers and this is from experts......grrrr stressed out and my back aches lol

Hun this website.. www.babycentre.co.uk is really good for reading about babies development each week and how big baby is each week. But it does say on there u cant see babies sex on scan untill around 15weeks..Sorry =(

I always thought that a feutus would be shown as a girl until at least 13 weeks and then genitals would form, maybe i'm wrong...

it is kind of like that theres a little bud which looks like the clitoris (as this is what it turns into if the baby is a girl)and after 13 weeks it starts turning in to either the clitoris and "lips" as it were or the penis if the baby is a lil boy

I found out with my last baby at 13 weeks! She said she was about 75% positive...and she was! it was a boy!

i had a scan at 34+2 on tuesday and they were able to tell me the sex no problem.
