I paid for a private scan at 12 weeks and they can tell the sex but its not by their bits its something to do with the position of their pelvis or something plus its only 60- 70% accurate at that early stage. At my private 12 week scan they said i was having a girl and luckily this was confirmed at my 20 week scan but i would not have bought anything pink with it only being 60% accurate at that early stage.

My friend found out she was having a boy when she was 14 weeks.

12 weeks its genitals look like a mix between a penis an vagina still. the genitals are developed enough to even tell till 16 weeks. they wait till 20 weeks because the main reason they do the scan is to check heart and brain development which isn't really clear till 20 weeks.

I know a couple people who found out at 12-13 weeks and it was accurate.
Even with a 20 week scan they can always get it wrong dependin on how baby lyin or other factors!

Never heard of that before, when i had my 12 week scan they said it was way too early to tell..i thought if you requested they have to inform u, and put on the notes that you have been informed

12 weeks is to early hun they do a 20 week 1 and then they can tell you if the baby is in the right postion. when i had my 20 week one she had her knees crossed but she did open them for a second and she said she was 90% sure it was a girl, but i wanted a 4D one done anyway so i found out for sure then

I think it prob depends on hospital, obviously if people have found out at 12-13 weeks which i know some who have then it is possible! Nowadays they always comin up with new machinery for this stuff so it hardly surprising!Just see what they say when u go there. x

It is possible to find out at 12 weeks,however it is by no means 100% definite.
More like 60%,so they can only tell you what they think it is.

I found out at 15 weeks,around 90% sure.So I did go buy pink stuff and it was confirmed at 20 weeks that it's in fact a girl.

I went for a private scan yesterday 16 weeks 3 days . Iasked theprivate sonographer there , He said he would never make a guess before 16 weeks .. And now i know why lol baby even at 16 weeks was soo hard to get a good guess , Luckily we saw bits lol But it took a long time of looking and if i had been any earlier i wouldnt of seen .
But i have heard of Nub theroy thats to do with the urethera certain angles , If angled at 40 degrees or more its a boy if its straight or only slight angled its a girl ... But !!! by my nub i was guessed girl and iam having a boy !!!!!! . I think thats why hospitals dont like to use the Nub theroy .

at 12 weeks the genitals look mostly the same for boys and girls, and its not until week 14 at the earliest that they can see.. even that is not a high percentage, like 75% or somthing.

Heya i had my scan! they said they could tell me but they wouldn't be 100% sure so i said no to that and am going to wait until my 20 wk scan...was amazing and s/he was wriggling and kicking like mad!!!
