19 & Pregnant

Hey there.
I Am 19, 30 Weeks Pregnant & PETRIFIED of needles, so kinda really not looking forward to the birth (i am due Christmas day of all days)

Ive been wondering, whats all this i hear about "The Drop" and when will this happen? and ive also had some really leaky breasts :'( and my OH thinks its hillarious and laughs it off, but I get really embarressed :/

So is it really noticeable.. or is it just a slight change? x

HELLLOOO I'm 19 too and 33 weeks preggo.
From what I've heard the drop is when the bub sinks properly into your pelvis, the bump looks lower like it has.. well.. dropped.. and the baby moves away from your lungs and stomach so you can breathe easier!
I'm 33 weeks and haven't dropped yet, so I don't know when it happens

Charlie is the best name although I am biased haha!
for me it was really noticable, Charlie was so high up & all the pressure and weight was on my chest and I really struggled to breathe, so when he dropped it was such a relief.. but that's when I really started to waddle because the pressure shifts on to your pelvis instead you can't win! x

Oo heck lol.. i dont really know where my bump is.. its a strange shape.. i need to get a picture up i think and ill show you what i mean by its an odd shape.. i dont know why hehe.. its a perfectly healthy baby tho so its just my bump being silly.. maybe it will take a better shape when its dropped x

hellooooo! welcome to bnb & congratulations on your pregnancy.
leaky breasts are SO normal, especially at your point in the pregnancy - unfortunately it may only get worse, but you can buy breast pads to help so your bras don't get wet. also, the drop usually happens anywhere from 34 weeks on usually. but sometimes you can drop a lot earlier. i dropped when i was 25 weeks and i thought i'd have an early baby - but i didn't! congrats again hun!

Welcome to BnB! It's great to have you here!
I'm Shannon, 18, and 36+2 weeks pregnant with a little girl named Tori due on November 14th!
Dropping is technically called lightening and it's when the baby engages into the pelvis before birth. You'll most likely feel a lot of relief because baby isn't pushing into your ribs as much now. Even though those are the good symptoms, lightening puts a lot of pressure into your bladder so if you think you're peeing a lot now, just wait! Lightening can happen at anytime but it's usually about 2 weeks before labor. It doesn't necessarily mean that labor is starting but just heading in the right direction! And leaky breasts is totally normal! It's your colostrum, or "pre-milk". Your breasts are just preparing to make food for your little one and if you're leaking a lot, try breast pads! They'll soak up your colostrum and help keep your clothes dry! But everything's totally normal! Hope you've had a wonderful pregnancy!

In labor and giving birth I did not need ant needles or IV's
So you dont always get them!

I am 20, was pregnant at 19 too! And have a little baby girl called Ava.

I am petrified of needles too, but ended up having so many blood tests done by the end (due to a number of problems!) that I am not so bothered by them now!

I dropped around 36 weeks I think? I can't remember lol, but started engaging by 32 weeks. You will notice when your bump drops as you will feel a bit of a gap just underneath your boobs & alot of pressure down low!
I had leaky boobs at 32 weeks for one day! Then they stopped until 39 weeks & kinda didn't stop until a week or so after I had her, totally normal though, so don't worry.

I am also a sophie 19 with a charlie he is now 4 months old and pregnancy with needels sucked I hate them but have 10 pericings and 3 tattoos ha ha If you need a friend add me my love I will help you the best I can As for the leeky boobs I stayed at other halfs mums with him when I was pregnant Spilt beans down my top so she lent me a clean top and DA DA the flood gates oppened boob juce Needless to say new clean top on ha ha and no one has let me live it down
