19 week ultrasound showed spot on babys heart...

Ok ladies I did every thing around stalking this site when I was pregnant so I'm hoping for some help again. My sister is 19 weeks with her first baby. I took her to the doctor yesterday for just a routine appointment and they did a ultrasound, when the doctor talked to her she said there is a small spot on the baby's heart and that could mean DS. They sent blood work off to have more testing done and will have those results friday. We won't know anything for sure until she's 28 weeks when they do another ultrasound. That's over 2 months away and she is worried sick and so I am to be honest. I have never heard of this...
Looking for happy ending stories! Anyone heard of this before?
Of course that beautiful baby girl is going to be loved regardless but no one wants to see their child suffer or even think their child is suffering. My sister has been through so much and is on her own unfortunately because the dad is a POS and couldn't handle settling down.

Hey Hun I know this was posted forever ago but I too had a white spot and they literally scare you to death with that info but after seeing a genetic counselor and specialist they told me it means nothing. It's a "soft marker" for DS which by itself means nothing and the spot always resolves itself. It doesn't mean anything so much they don't even look for it after birth! When they told me I was devastated and cried for two days and worried for weeks come to find out it's nothing at all.

My sister had it with her first born. I think it's called an EIF? Anyone, she had no other markets and her LO is just fine. It did eventually resolve.

With my first, the 20 week ultrasound detected a spot on her heart as well. I had already done genetic testing because of my age. It was just a quirk of the scan.
