1st Christmas... Traditions?

So what traditions will you be following through with on your LOs first christmas?

I'd like to bring in some new traditions for LO so want some ideas...
but first of all - his sack will definitely be in the room ready for him to open in the morning as when we were little our sacks were always just outside our door so we didnt have to wake up mum n dad at silly o clock to open our presents downstairs as the sack kept us occupied for a while. haha

I am planning on bringing in, letting him open a present on xmas eve (pyjamas/xmas book)

I'm doing all I can think of lol I love xmas starting with the calender lol even tho junior won't no what I'm doing. Xmas day me and my brother would be up at stupid o clock running thro 2 out parents room then we would all go 2 the living room we would chap the living room door and shout santa are you there have u been lol then burst thro the door 2 find all our presents it was so exciting I want junior 2 be that excited 2 when he s old enough 2 understand. We had stockings but the were in the living room 2 so I'll do that 2. I'm sooo excited 4 xmas this year I want my tree up now lol but I'll wait till the 1st dec think I might even put a wee tree in juniors room 2 I jst no I'm gonna go way ott on it lol xx

The one tradition I used to love was going to my Grandparents for Breakfast every year and all the other relatives being there. We still do something similar except it's my hubby's parents we go to.

I'd love to start our own family traditions this year though. I am inviting my oh's parents up for Christmas Eve for supper and I also want to have him open up one gift on Christmas eve too (new pj's).

My little traditions for the boys are

Getting to open 1 present on Christmas eve
Getting a new duvet cover for Christmas eve, so Santa can look into a nice room lol
On Christmas morning Daddy always go down the stairs to check that Santa isnt there, because if the kids go down first and Santa is still there then all the presents will disappear
After Daddy has checked Santa isnt there we all go down the stairs, youngest -eldest

Oh the best part is watching them opening their stuff! I cant imagine missing half of it for an extra 10 mins in bed!

We always give amelie a little christmas eve hamper. has some sweets, new pjs and a new book usually. This year we might addsnowman soup, a film and some popcorn to watch

oh and this year she'll fully appreciate the sprinkling of the reindeer food and leaving carrot and mince pie out for santa

I read your post about 20 times and then re-red this thread 20 times wondering WTH you were talking about,(missing LO open their presents) then the penny dropped. I need more coffee

haha! i think OP is just referring to their stocking but still.. amelie gets some awesome stuff in her stocking and i think it was her fav part last yr :\

I know what you mean, my boys get to open nothing unless I am right there (usually with a camera ) watching
