1st cycle with clomid

FrenchieCA, what is being tested on CD3? And what was the hsg done? And was it painful? Sorry for asking too many questions

Hi megne922, welcome to our mini group! It's a bit depressing sometime that everyone seems to be pregnant except us! But we also have to remember that stress is one factor that can affect our ttc journey. Recent studies show that the more stressed a person is, the harder for her to conceive. So let's all enjoy the baby making process and try not to worry too much. I know it's easier said than done, but we will help each other get through this! The ladies here are very helpful especially on those clomid side effect days!lol

BTW, with my first round of clomid, I used preseed during fertile days. With my first round, I did not notice any CM on my fertile days. So for the 2nd round, I'm adding mucinex right after I take clomid, starting on CD10. I am yet to ask my doctor about this though. I take clomid at night and did not have any immediate side effects. I think I started having side effects right after ovulation. Cramps, diarrhea, constipated. And during my First day of period, I had the worst cramps! I can't even describe how painful it is! I was just laying on the bed the whole morning. I don't normally resort to pain relievers but during that time, I caved in! The pain score was like 10/10. Every body reacts differently to clomid, I don't know why my body was over- reacting to it.

And oh, I didn't spot mid cycle (a week before period) with clomid. So it basically helped with my low progesterone. I however spot the day before my full blown period.

Praying for bfp for all of us!

sorry to hear you are in limbo - i would try to follow up with your dr.'s office on Monday in regards to your blood work. Hopefully no AF means a BFP. KMFX

no news from me yet - i have my follow up on monday to confirm o and find out endo lining and follicle measurements at day 14 - depending on what these results are, I will be testing on Thursday (day 28) assuming AF doesn't show up first - it was early last month

this 2ww is killing me!

SPJD, How's the 2ww?

Thank Plsbpositive.
I'm trying to do yoga now to help relieve some stress...I know for a fact stress is one of my big issues. I tried Preseed durring 2 cycles I didn't love it. I did the lay down but up for 20min and i still felt a big gush when I stood up. But we have just used it as a lube and that seems to work better.

This TWW I feel like experienced symptoms I've never felt before and testing just comes up BFN. I try hard to not get my hopes up but you really can't help it. I have really bad periods in often have to stay home from work one day during them. I can't move, I get a migraine sometimes diarrhea with the cramps it's horrible all I do is just sleep! So if that's what could happen in Clomid 😟
I guess I just gotta try.

I finally got AF thanks to provera! I start my first round of clomid Sunday night. I'm nervous. As you guys know I ordered it without telling my doctor (she was only willing to prescribe it if I went on bcp to regulate my period) and I'm a little nervous about the side effects, especially overstimulation. I'm only taking 50mg. I thought about cutting the pill and only taking half but I doubt such a low dose would work.

And guys don't worry about me, I have my gyno on speed dial and I live a mile away from a hospital incase of anything. I just don't know how bad I should feel (if I do end up feeling bad) before seeking help. It seems like cramps are a common side effect. How do you distinguish between bad cramps and overstimulation?

Sorry about the jitters. This is the road that I decided to take and I just need to suck it up a little bit. It will all be worth it when I finally get that BFP!

Well fivers crossed for you Maybebaby!

Currently I'm waiting on AF...Thursday I had spotting toward the end of the work day by the time I got home I figured it would have progressed but nothing. So I was waiting for her to be full on over night but nothing Friday at all. Today I was spotting only once but ( TMI ALERT ) I had a little bit of CM & it was a snotty like glob not white or EW color. I took a test an got a BFN w/ FMU.
My boobs hurt I'm bloated and I just want AF TO SHOW IF SHE'S GOING TO! Oye vey. I want to start Clomid an get the process going.

I called my OB yesterday also for my 2nd progesterone lab results and I sware everything her told us in the first place he was telling me the opposite on the phone. He told me last visit IVF was way end of the road but told me when I see him in 4 weeks if I haven't got a BFP he'll refer me to a IVF specialist? Then said but we can do Clomid for up to 4 months. Your call......umm what?! I got
To you the doctor for answers and to get results? Because of 1 test now at the end of the road? He didn't even remember putting me on Clomid. 😕
Sorry just a bit frustrated.

Hey all how's everyone doing? AF showed today! Cycle day 32 I've never had a cycle that long. But I'm excited to start Clomid and I just am keeping positive!

Sorry I took so long to reply to this....

CD3 hormone testing checks the Follicle Stimulating Hormone. High day 3 FSH levels are associated with diminished ovarian reserve. It also tests Estradiol. High numbers here are also associated with diminished ovarian reserve and a possible cyst.

My HSG was done on CD12 - a little late, but I didn't ovulate until CD18, so it was okay. It wasn't too painful. A bit of pinching and pressure - a few movements were pretty bad but I was able to breathe though it.

Hope that helps!

Meg & maybebaby, GL with your first round of clomid!

Update....
I'm on CD14, POAS every now and then to check for ovulation. Last cycle, I O'd on CD16. I didn't experience any side effect with clomid round 2. I think my body has adapted with it. So good news to you first rounders! It gets better with round 2. But i sure do hope you guys will get bfp with your first round.

Baby dust to us all!

Does anyone think it makes a difference taking it at night or durring the day?

I was advised to take mine at bed time bc it helps to lessen the symptoms. I haven't started y first round yet. I take my first pill sat days 5-9 and I hope the side effects aren't too bad lol. Good luck to all the other ladies on this cycle of clomid

i'm pretty excited to start. I'm trying to not get my hopes up but it's hard it could be the boost I need. fingers crossed. I'm going to also use OPK's every day to track my O. :)

What day are you starting your pills? I'm excited as well. I just hated seeing bfn's but atleast I know why I was seeing them. Good luck!!!

Start cycle day 5-9 I usually O cd14. But I want to see w/ the Clomid if that changes. I hate seeing them too. I'm pretty good about not testing a ton maybe just 1-2 times. Once I see the BFN i give up.

well everything seems to be working each cycle (ovulation, healthy sized follicles and lining), but we just can't seem to get our BFP - I am currently on CD12 of my third round - I was off the forums for awhile needing a bit of a break. Tomorrow is my u/s and b/w to check in how many follicles are developing this cycle. I will keep you ladies posted.

Anyone with a BFP in the past 2 weeks that I missed?

SPJD good luck and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
Just wondering has your husband has a semen annalysis done?

Thanks Meg - :)

He did have a SA done and though he was on the low end of the 'normal' range in terms of his counts, our fertility specialist was not concerned. Just advised us not to BD more than every other day cause it can "deplete stores" !

We are starting to think an IUI may be worth a try, but will likely wait until 6 rounds of Clomid are up first. Research shows that if you don't get pregnant on Clomid within the first 6 months (where ovulation has occurred) it becomes less likely that you will conceive on Clomid. My doc wants to go to 9 months on Clomid - but if it gets to the point, I am thinking we will try IUI.

Wow! I didnt even think they recommended being in it more than 4 cycles! I did ask my md what his thought on IUI was an he recommended IVF over it due to success rate. It wasn't until I found this site I even heard of IUI. Lol.
Well chucky I'm crossing everything for you!!!

so I had my u/s on day 13 (yesterday) and from what I could tell there was only one viable follicle at 22mm. The last 2 months there have been two, however they were usually smaller - so maybe 1 larger follicle will work better for us. I am a bit worried about my endo lining - each month that I have been on Clomid it has gone down 1mm - the first month it was at 10mm, the second month 9mm, and this month it was measured at 8mm**though this was one day earlier in my cycle.

I know the thinning lining can be a side effect of Clomid - just wondering if anyone has had experience with this and has been advised on how to thicken the lining?

Also, I finally caved and got some opk strips through amazon (much cheaper than buying an opk through shoppers) - i tested last night and it was negative, but tested again this afternoon and its def positive. So - my question is when is the best time to BD ??

Hmm. I guess ASAP. Lol. FYI the negatives before a positive are slightly lighter than the + so maybe this is the start of you surge?

I tested again this morning and it was way way lighter than the control line - we BD'd yesterday morning and usually my doc keeps us on an every other day schedule - but I am thinking we will BD again tonight - just to be certain we do not miss our window
