2 Embryo transfer?

Hi Everyone,

Well i had two little embroys put back in i had to sign to say i had gone against the hospitals wishes and i thank my lucky stars i did..... I got a postive test on the 11th of dec after been convinced it hav'nt worked totally over the moon ...had our 1st scan today and seen our little'ones heart beat only 1 little heart beat other never took but i am so glad we put two in as if i'd had put one in there was no way of knowing which would have worked as they was both cell 7's grade 3,

Best advise i could ever give is max ur chances ladies wish u all the best xx

Hi,

I had 2 excellent looking blastocysts transferred. I was told my chances of twins was quite high (about 22% they thought) considering I'm 23 and the blastocysts were such high quality. My IVF wasn't in England (though I'm UK born and based.) so I didn't have to argue for 2. (However they would've been very anti more than 2, if I'd wanted 3 put back as is common in some countries. However we were happy with 2, so didn't need to ask for more.)

However I became pregnant with one baby. I am so very glad that we had 2 put back, sometimes I think what it would've been like if we'd only had one put back and that one had been the blastocyst that didn't take. I wouldn't now be 32+ weeks pregnant. The blastocyst that didn't take was probably because it was flawed in some way although it looked perfect (after all grading embyros is very difficult and largely based on the number of cells the embyro has.)

If we should be so lucky, we'd like to try for a sibling once this baby is about a year old (my partner is older and we know how long battling infertility can take.) and we would opt for 2 to be transferred again. That's a bit of a scary thought, as if we were lucky enough to get a BFP and it was twins, we'd have three very young children. But I still think it would be worth it.

Lots of good luck with your IVF, I hope you get your positive very soon.

- Greta.

Great and little Mo u are so right I think I am going to have 2 if I'm allowed, Ill fight it every step of the way. You would never know which one would have taken and I want to maximise my chances as much as possible. I wouldnt HOPE for twins, I would HOPE one would take, but if it was twins then that would be a double blessing and our family would be complete. Two all the way!
