Hello Ladies.

I went to see my FS this morning. he was really pleased with me and said my day 21 bloods over the last 5months showed that the clomid was working (he always seems a happy man) but bascially as we are stil not PG he has referred me (shud get a date withing the next 7 days)to have a LAP & DYE and OVARIAN DRILLING? (i also have serve PCOS) and said depending on how well it goes. he may put me back on clomid for another 3months and hopfully fall PG withing them 3months!!

Has any one had this precedure done and how was it and any success stories like how long did it take to fall PG after?

Who had thought trying for a baby would be so hard!!! 2years down the line and still never got a BFP....really hope this works for me and my DH!!!

thanks!!!
xxxx

Hi, sorry I don't have success story but just wanted to say hello as I am at a very similar point in my TTC journey and it always nice to talk to someone in the same boat. As you will see from my signature I have PCOS, trying for 1yr7mths, 7 rounds of clomid, not all ovulatory.

The doc has advised my next step would either be ovarian drilling or injectables. My next appointment is on the 24th October to discuss options in more detail.

I would love to keep in touch and for you to let me know how u get on. I haven't come across anyone else as yet having this procedure. :flower:

hello!!
Yess of course i will keep u updated on it!!!
I was really upset and worried when i went to see FS yesterday as on of the appt when i saw his registar they said after 6 months of clomid and not PG then theres not alot they can do for me. so after 6 months of clomid i was like OMG....
But my actually FS was lovely yesterday although im shit scared but have read loads of stories on line about the prodecure!!! xxx

Hi, glad you saw a good FS, I thought that at the clomid was going to be the answer but I guess it doesn't work for everyone. I have also read lots of encouraging stories about the OD so I guess if that's the next step I will go for it. I think I would actually prefer this option over the injectables as im shit scared on needles!

Do you know how long it will be until u have the procedure? Also, are you going through the NHS or private? if you don't mind me asking.

I'm having to done via NHS at my local hospital in Essex. At my appt last fri (30th) they said i would get a letter with a date withing the next 7days. so if i dont have a letter by this fri (7th) i will give them a ring. As obv my periods started becoming regular once i was on clomid (every 36days!!!!! it used to be 1 period every 10months!!!!) but then i havent had a period since July!! so im guessing he wants to get this procedure done asap as obv it aint good im going without a period. But i will be given a PG test at the pre assessment and again on the morning of the operation!!

How amazing would that be...cant have the operation as pregnant!!!! lol! but think its just wishfull thinking!!! but fingers crossed i have the operation soon and then fall pg pretty soon after it!!!

Hi loubylou88, i just wanted to wish you luck!!

i have no success story for you yet only had mine done yesterday LOL but it went great my tubes are not blocked no sign of endometriosis and they done the drilling... i had mine on the NHS to and i just wanted to warn you that i had been waiting since may to have mine done :(

BUT all areas are different and i hope you dont have a long wait like i did usually the waiting list is 18 weeks and i was put on the longer list GRRR! ](*,) I think its great that your FS has said you will be getting a letter its a sure sign you won't be waiting as long as i did!

good luck and lots of :dust: i hope you get your BFP whilst you wait :winkwink: x x

Louise- hope you don't have to wait too long for the op, I'm going to see my FS on the 24th Oct and hoping he is going to book me in for the op too.

Babybrain- how was the procedure? Is there any pain/discomfort? Also do u have to wait at all before u can start trying?

Good luck you both.x

hi it was ok i have been in a bit of pain its a mixture between the gas they pump into you moving around shoulders, back under my ribs lol and where they went in with the tools...

its not as painful as i thought it would be its bearable with the painkillers but quite uncomfortable.

you dont have to wait to start trying again just when you feel comfortable enough to have sex

Good luck to you too :) x x

Thanks for letting me know how it went, I'm quite lucky that I've never had to go under general for anything so I think it's just that part of it that makes me nervous. Im sure it will all be worth it however when we get our BFPs! X

Hello, just wanted to let you know that I have my ovarian drilling booked in for January 2012. So I'm just going to have a relax for a few months while I wait! X

Emz-AMY- I live in Basildon too :-) but i choose to go broomfield hospital (to many bad experiences at Basildon hospital) lol.

But girls i got my date throu....I had my pre op assesment last weeka and booked in for the 16th November.
very shocked at how quickly it come throu as they said a 3month waiting list...but only had to wait about 6weeks!! Just praying it works as dont know what else to try before IVF..... and im hoping that i recover soon so we can get back to BDing!! lol!! xx

Wow Louise, that's really quick! My Dr only does surgery one afternoon a week so can't get in till Jan. hope it all goes well for you, let us know how u get on. X

yeah was quick but pleased. i think coz i only actually went a year of having 36day cycles (where before i was one period every 10 months) then all of a sudden i stopped in july so maybe he was thinking will get it done quickly so i dont have the pain and discomfort i had before. either way will be pleased to get it over with and just be praying we fall straight away.

Really really down today....found out a friend is pregnant with her 2nd and has only been ttc for 4weeks. Not only did she not tell me (when all my friends no my troubles) i found out on facebook!!!!! So burst into tears and feeling really down.xxx

Keep your chin up Lou, I know it's easier said than done. Ive recently had 2 friends get pregnant on their honeymoons, literally as soon as they started trying. I couldn't believe how upset it's made me. just feels so unfair!

I'm sure ur surgery will kick starts things and give you you a really good chance. Hope you feel better. X

hey girlies!!!

Had my tubes flushed with the dye and my ovaries drilled (for the PCOS) but while i was under GA they also found out i have 'grade 2 Endometriosis' and app something to that too done on wednesday 16th Novemeber.

my stitches are to be removed tomorrow. which im dreading as have had it all via key hole but i have two stitches actually in my belly button and dont do belly buttons lol!!!

So now i have the wait for AF to show and hopfully ovulate. so fingercrossed me and DH will concieve a christmas pudding lol!!! my cycles were a min of 36days before surgery so if i go by that im due on 6th December.

just thought id up date you all!!! xxx

Hey all, just wanted to let you all know the week ive had (this is not to upset or discourage anyone just my story) had my post op check still had no AF so my gynae basically gave me some more clomid and said that if this doesnt work it will be straight to IVF i was devastated been in tears all week!! its more heartbreak as im 21 and you have to be 23 i am heartbroken and dont know what else to do! should i get a second opinion surely theres other things left before ivf??

Im just hoping and praying this clomid works this time....

I have complete faith that it will work for you ladies as it has for many just MY stubborn body doesnt like working for anything!

Sending you all luck, love and babydust!! (keeping some for myself) lol x x x x

loubylou - Sorry didnt mean to be rude, I wish you all the luck and hope you soon get cooking with a christmas pudding :) x x
