2 years plus TTC....Now going to have a Lap & Dye and Ovarian drilling.

hiya. i didnt realise there was an age limit on ivf :-/ i was only 23 in march....
I still havent had my post op appt. waiting for it to come through the post... but before ivf there is 'IUI' thats what my FS said anyways, but different fs different ways i suppose. where abouts r u?x

I have my lap and ovarian drilling and hysteroscopy (think it's called that lol) on december 13th I'm so scared! Any advice you ladies have will be appreciated as to what it's like after pain wise etc and anything I need to prepare myself for etc xxx

hello

It was ok, i went under GA which was lovely having a nice sleep.if im being honest i woke up in terrible pain...but a quick injection of morphine soon sorted that lol. and within 2hours of waking up i wanted to go home. i was fine walking around. just getting up and getting back down was stif.
tbh the gas was far more painfull then my stomach, used hot watter bottles on my sholders and it helped abit. but i wasnt prepared for the pain lol!! My stomach just felt like a normal period pain. I sadly developed thrush afterwards, as am alergic to certain gloves and so it caused me to develope an infection down there. I had my stitches out last friday (10 days after op....they blooy hurt lol!! but i dont like stitches or belly buttons so dont think that helped lol)

I was really really scared about having this operation...but it wasnt that bad. and im a wuss for pain!!! as im a career im not allowed back to work till 7th (so had 3weeks off work so i dont go lifting people and damaging meself) just make sure u got hot water bottle and you'll be fine huni xxxx

I didnt realise there was an age limit either until he told me.... His word were 'you 2 are very lucky as everywhere else the age limit is 30 and you only get one try on the NHS but here (Swindon, Wiltshire) the age limit is 23 and you get 3 tries on the NHS'

Not sure how true this is though... I did do some research about IUI but on the NHS they mainly give it to couples who have male factor infertility or the woman has endo which we have neither just PCOS :(

scerena - my op went fine i was in pain when i woke up but they didnt give me morphine ... unless they did before i woke up lol but my pain wasnt so bad just getting up and down walking about i was fine i had more trouble after, i had 'dissolvable' stitches in which were still there 3 weeks later so had to have them removed but that didnt really hurt... also one of my scars split!
I think different people react differently before i had mine i asked people what is was like etc and for me it was different to what they said..

Just rest alot and take painkillers, i found when i moved around too much it started to hurt so just chill out
GOOD LUCK!! x x x

Thanks girls :)
I hope that they give me morphine... Can you request them to give you pain killers before you wake?
What is the pain like when you wake up then?

Thanks for all the info girls :)

Good luck to both of you girls after the lap you definately deserve your :bfp: even more x

it just felt like a strong period pain thats all. but a shot of morhpine sorted it out. my fs just told me what drugs will be given to me after the op. so maybe yours if not just ask wxx

I too had morphine after my lap (yesterday)....morphine and something else, as the morphine didn't take care of all of the pain.

I would say, after surgery, beware of the pain from the CO2 they use. My shoulder hurt a little after the surgery and early this morning, but this afternoon it intensified by a lot! My nurse told me for the first day to take the pain meds even if I didn't feel I needed them, and I think that was good advice :)

Best wishes!

My op tomorrow, how are all you lovely ladies?x

The hospital phoned at 11.45 today to tell me the op has been cancelled tomorrow so now no op for me now until the 3/01/12 as apparently they have an emergency- surely if it was an emergency it woud have been dealt with today not tomorrow! I was in tears when I got off the phone I was ready for the op deep down! Just had enough now! I have to be scared for another 3 weeks now! xx

Sorry to hear that serena, that is really rubbish. I think I would feel exactly the same as its he waiting around that's the worst part. Not sure what else to say.

I hope you feel better. X x

Thanks hun Im ok now I was an emotional wreck yesterday but I feel much better now...

How are you anyway? Means my op is only 9 days before you we can share stories- yours is on my birthday x

Hi, glad your feeling a little bit better about it. Not long now really, it will be here before you know it! Glad yours didn't land on your birthday wouldn't have been the best way to spend it.

Will be glad when it's out of the way, did the doc say you would be off work 2 weeks? X

I know i cannot wait for it to be out the way either i wish i was recovering now though lol! They said 1-2 weeks depends on how i feel- from what ive been told it sounds about two weeks is about right to recover...
Are tou nervous or not just yet?x
