.

I did a bit of research on Soy Isoflavones because I was getting a bit desperate and didn't think my specialist was going to prescribe Clomid. He did and thankfully it worked.

But I found some research on PCOS and soy. Basically most people with PCOS have high levels of estrogen and taking soy (which mimics estrogen) can create more havoc. I have low estrogen so I was trying to find out whether it would help, but there was little research. But generally what I found was people saying don't take it if you have PCOS. But honestly I think if you can't get anything else and you're not ovulating, you're probably not going to do much harm if you start on a low dose and work your way up.

Well I would say soy worked.

Me too!

I have severe pcos and never ovulate on my own. I wasn't expecting to ovulate let alone get a positive test. I am still early (10 dpo) so this week will be a testing frenzy to see it get darker.

If it is the concentrate ones then it is 20mg of soy per pill. If it is different then you can look up the brand on their website and it should tell you.

Hi AndreeZZ!

I also read about not taking it if you ovulate on my own and got a bit nervous. But I was ovulating late (CD 25ish) and the month I tried them I knew I'd not be with my OH around O time as I was away for a long weekend so thought I'd give it a go as we wouldn't have a chance that month anyway otherwise. As I said it moved it forward by two days but that was enough to allow us to catch that egg!

With regard to your dosage question it seems to be based on what you wrote that the pills only have 17mg actual SI so if you want 100mg you would need to take 5. BUT double check this as obviously I don't have the packet etc.

i actually just got a cold now too hoping it won't mess up my o too much :(

i've been having a few little pains in my ovaries i think, kind of like when i took them the last time to get preg with my son so i hope it works!

Heaveneats-
Before you took soy iso did you ovulate on your own?
I did some research on line and it says if you ovulate on your own taking soy iso can mess things up?
I do ovulate on my own but I'm hoping to strengthen ovulation/bring it up a few days. Don't want to take it if I shouldn't be if I'm ovulating on my own already.

i did yes - CD 19-20 but i still ov'ed around the same time when i took them, but last month when i took them i got my positive on cd 15:happydance: this cycle i'm hoping the same because Dh is gone this weekend coming up and i'm cd 15 tomorrow

cd 15 and neg opk :( oh well! i think between tomorrow cd 16 and cd 20 :( i will get a positive but dh is away so i'm outta luck

I heard taking B6 can help lengthen your LP. Downside is I also read it can delay ovulation... but maybe you can take it after O? Not sure if that will work though but might be worth researching!

I've taken mine and am now on CD15 with no positive, I hope it stays away for the next couple of days as I won't be able to get a sperm donation if it happens tomorrow or Sunday! I've been having some pain around my ovaries I think, and absolutely tons of creamy CM. I had no side effects from taking the soy at all.

Cd 17 I got my positive but dh left yesterday so it's a waste now :( would have been good if we bd today

Thought I would update. Looks like FRER gave me false positives or showed the indent line. This were old style frers too. Tests from another brand came up 100% BFN. AF is either due today or in 2 days depends on which LP date it chooses to do lol. It used to be 18 days before my mc but after it shortened to 16. So who knows.

What I am pretty sure about (but not 100% has I have no proof other than temps) is that I ovulated. I had so many symptoms that I never get in an anovulatory cycle.

so now I wait for af to show up so I can try again. This time I might ask my doc for a progesterone test. Just to see.
