Anyone in my boat??? I just had my second mmc.. they induced Monday and I passed the baby yesterday . I started going to a new ob this pregnancy (my last ob was awful and wouldn't so any testing on me and completely ignored my fears and worries) I know God led me to my current ob and she is going to be doing all the testing to figure out why this is happening, we went ahead and sent baby off for genetic screening and we will also find out the gender !!! After the results come back I'll have a full work up to make sure I don't have anything underlying, blood clotting issues or anything ... I have been asked to not ttc again until all tests are back (can take up to 12-16 weeks for it all)..
Anyone been through all the testing and everything ??

I'm so sorry for your losses.

I have not yet been through this, but am going through it with you - I suffered my second recurrent miscarriage in May. I have been waiting since then for testing, and will finally go to my doctor this Friday. I'm also getting a second opinion with a fertility specialist next week.

I really hope I can try again soon after that! The waiting is awful, as I am sure you can appreciate.

I will let you know what my doc says and we can compare notes on what tests to ask for. I have been researching and definitely want an FSH test and maybe an antral follicle count, and I will ask about a saline ultrasound as well.

I'm glad to see I'm not alone (but I'm sorry you are going through it as well!!!) I've also been trying to research and it sounds like along with testing the baby and the tests you described, also checking for anticardiolipid antibodies and antiphospholipid antibodies. . Along with checking to make sure I'm not carrying the mthfr gene... but already I've (today) ordered folate and coq10, both recommended by my dr and given to patients with recurrent losses. The folate is a pure natural form of folic acid (which is synthetically made and not processed well, and if you carry the mthfr gene it can make it nearly impossible to get folic acid) so I'll be on 1600mcg folate and 400 mg ubiquinol (the natural form of coq10) .. I won't get to start trying until all my results are in 12-16 weeks, so it's good I start this stuff now!! I'm also adding in a (small) b-complex to help absorb the extra folate (I'll take these in the evening and my regular prenatal (that has folate instead of folic acid in the morning ).. I'll take the coq10 in am with protein !!!
Having a plan in place and doing things now to help are very helpful and I'm glad my dr has been so helpful and encouraging !!! I just hate the waiting !!!!!

Interesting! Wow I have never heard of some of those tests, I will bring them up with my doctor. I see you already have a daughter - is this something that could have come up after her birth? I always just assumed that since I had one healthy pregnancy, the problem with my miscarriages had to be with the embryos / eggs, and not with my uterus / me. But maybe I'm wrong about that, or maybe it is something that could have come up after the pregnancy.

I am also taking ubiquinol! 200mg in the morning. Although not with protein - is that recommended? I also take Vitex (sometimes also with a B-complex) and a prenatal, and Vitamin D. Oh man, all the various things we do to try and help!

Good luck, I agree that it's nice to have a plan and feel good about the things that we are doing for our bodies at least, while we wait.

I had my first three miscarriages before my dd, and then this one.. my dr said it could still be something with me and it was just a miracle she wasn't affected by it!!! I just want an answer either way!!!!

Sorry for your losses :hugs:

I had a scan yesterday confirming blighted ovum measuring 7w5d at 11w. I had a mmc at 9w5d last year and was detected at 12w scan. I also had a CP in Jan last year & another one earlier before conceiving my son 6 yrs back.

I don't know what's the next step, I have natural folate so I will start taking that instead of my normal folic acid, I have loads of raw prenatal multi vits and prenatal omegas but I wasn't taking them during this pregnancy as the dr thought it is better to start them in 2nd tri.

I have an apt next Tuesday to discuss my options, I think I will opt for a D&C. Then the dr will run some tests for recurrent a mc.

I'm sorry!!!
In one week from tomorrow we will have results on our baby.. I've started taking the ubiquinol and the folate, and my prenatal has folate also not folic acid, I've also started exercising a bit and I'll be making my smoothies again, (we home make smoothie packs that we freeze, they have 20 different fruits and veggies , coconut, spinach , kale and tons of stuff in them , not like the smoothies most people think of full of sugar and what not) we eat one every day for an added dose of natural vitamins and minerals !!!!
I'm ready to try again but I know I must wait a few months until we have answers!!

I'm a health & nutrition coach , but I never thought of investigating mmc & diet. My diet is healthy & I take my supplements.

I'm in the process of working on my website, and today I was thinking of starting a blog to investigate mmcs and diet and look for resources from alternative medicine perspective. I have access to several e-libraries so I will start looking into those 1st.

I need a short break from ttc until I figure out what the causes are, DH already had a semen analysis & the results weren't so good, so I will have to take this into consideration.

I will check with our dr if in the case of blighted ovum a fetus analysis would show anything.

I'm going to start meditation today, there is Deepak and Operah free meditation running now, today is the 3rd day

This pregnancy wasn't planned , well at least not in the month I conceived in, hubby was sick with fever and on antibiotics, it was kind of a shock to both of us when we found out I was pregnant. It wasn't the right month.

I also want to check my thyroid as I suspect it might be slightly under active. I was suffering from some fatigue & unexplained weight gain (it's not much but I'm sure it's not food).

I don't know if it's food related either, but dh is also taking folate and ubiquinol also, they are supposed to help sperm be the healthiest they can be... we also eat very healthy, we eat non processed, natural whole foods (if we ever do have anything processed it's because we are somewhere that we can't really avoid it) and lots of fresh fruits and veggies , we try to stay pretty natural in our lives too...
I hope just the steps we've taken will help..
For the last few months I've allowed myself to eat quite unhealthy and lots if junk food, which is so unlike me .. but I'm getting back to what is normal for me and I'm sure my body will thank me for it!!!!
I'm really hoping that the results show that the baby just had a fluke chromosomal abnormality incompatible with life. I really feel like that is the best case scenario here, because then the likelihood of it happening again would be slim and I wouldn't have to take anything additional during pregnancy, like if for instance I had a blood clotting issue ...
O well, only time will tell .. hopefully these next few weeks come quickly!!!

I really hope you get some answers soon :hugs:
