Hi, my little man is 2yrs 7mths, something was bothering him right in the corner of his mouth, I looked and noticed a tiny red mark there and something like a tiny blister. I am so worried it's a coldsore. I'm pretty sure I've had something like it before which was sore but not a coldsore I don't think, thing is I had a coldsore a few weeks ago, I was so careful not to share anything with them, I didn't give them a kiss all week and at night I covered it with plaster incase they touched it, if they went anywhere near it it was straight to the bathroom to wash hands and I even carried alcohol wash with me. I know babies can get very ill with the virus but what about toddlers, he's had a cough for a week but other than that he's fine. Anyone else had a child with a coldsore at this age

I never used to get cold sores but got my first one when I was 30. When pregnant with my son (2nd child) i had them constantly, at least one a month and even now, he's 2 years old, i get them every month when I'm due on.

I was always so careful but when he was about 8 months old, he had a swollen mouth that was full of sore - GP said coldsore infection and gave us something for him. He's had them twice since. From 2 i think they can use the coldsore cream. Its not too much of an issue - what was your concern?

I have been prone to coldsores for as long as I can remember! I would just put a little coldsore cream on, keep his hands extra clean and do whatever you can to stop him from touching it.
Not much you can to tbh!
