30 Somethings - The Clocks Ticking!

Is anyone else out there worried about time slipping away while TTC?

I'm on cycle 6 now and wondering how I'm going to make 2 babies before I hit that mystical magical 35.

Is it just me or is everyone else in the world pregnant while my body clock tick tocks away! :?:

*raises hand shyly*

Yep, I am. And deep down I'm very worried. If I'm being honest, I think about this more than I daydream about having a healthy pregnancy and baby should I be fortunate enough to fall pregnant.

I'm 37 and ttc #1. I'm an only child and adamant that we should have more than one, so I seriously need to get a move on. But I'm trying not to get too stressed about it in case the added pressure stops it from happening.

Heya - I'm an only child too and spent many school holidays with my imaginary friend! I
really want more than one kid so they've got some kind of distraction.

Ha - I started TTC thinking it would be easy - hope #2 isn't this hard!

We're going to try for number 2 straight away - hmmm - so easy to say!

Been there! I'm also quite particular about which month I'd like my babies born in and I realise that's just being picky to the point of being pedantic. I have a late Summer birthday which I also hate(d) as I never had a "proper" party - everyone was on holiday and there was not even captive guests in the form of brothers and sisters!

Without wishing to sound totally morbid, it's the getting older with no siblings thing that bothers me most. Although I have brothers and sisters-in-law care of DH, it's not the same as having your own.

I think we'll probably try to add to the family immediately after #1, but in an ideal world twins or triplets would be perfect!

Good luck to you.

Oh you're so right - I'd love to have multiples !

I'm the same though - we made a half-arsed attempt at TTC in March 'cos I really didn't want an Xmas baby.

And I'm an only child too and would have loved someone to share my childhood with.
But saying that - my OH really doesn't get on with his sister... ha!

Hi ladies! I'm on cycle 6 with you Cazd - TTC our second though.
My original aim was to have a second child before Freya turned 4... That's out, now I want to have it before I turn 37 (which will give me this + one other cycle).
We were only going to have one kid, but realised relatively recently that Freya would make an awesome big sister.
I have been pregnant twice before - one m/c before Freya - and got pregnant cycle one off bcp both times. I'm getting a little fed up now, if I'm honest.

Hey you! I remember when we were talking on the Naughties thread!
And that was forever ago!

Yup - time is just flying by and month after month its getting harder.

But then... with all the stats about it taking an average of a year... the closer I get to 12 months - the more likely the 'next cycle' will be the one!!

I get all down when the :witch: turns up but when the WOV is over and its time to get some action - I get all excited again and the PMA comes out of nowhere!

hello everyone im 38 this month and trying for #4 !!

i wish id started this baby thing sooner !! there is a 9 yr age gap between #1 and #2 !

.

Totally with you!!! Only my son is 7 getting closer to 8 everyday! I wish it was as easy for me this time around.

Oh that must be so frustrating - with other kids getting older every cycle!

My broody switch didn't flick 'till I hit 30 - we weren't really in a place to start a family before then. It took me 6 months to persuade my OH to TTC - glad he finally caved !

I am 43, we are trying for our first, and I couldn't give a monkeys what month its born in - we are looking for a miracle, any month will do. :cloud9:

Hey all, I am with you having all the doubts - will it ever happen? will I have time to have more than one. Should I have had children earlier etc.... Think we would be weird not to have these doubts. It is also amazing how quick time flies when ttc, I am now on cycle 7. Am encouraged to read that it takes an average of a year and therefore I must be getting closer to my time for a bfp as had not thought like that, just thought why is is taking so long? what is wrong with me or dh? x

Hello ladies

I am creeping up to 38 and trying for our first xxx

Hi girls, I am 35 and ttc #1. I would have preferred to have had a family earlier but I guess the right situation never came its way and I wasn't really ready until I was with someone who I knew will stand by me in life. So here I am 35 and its been about 18 cycles of ttc. Recently had a lap/D&C/dye etc done and this will be my first month on Clomid. I ovulate on my own but specialist wanted to give me a boost to make sure.

Time certainly does fly. I'll be 36 in August and DH is 48. So if we conceive in the next couple of months then I'll be 36 with our first.

Best of luck to everyone on their tcc journey. Hope everyone gets they're :bfp: soon.

I'm in my 30's. I'm 32 and was never this ga-ga over having kids. It was always 'we'll see'. I got married in February and all of the sudden, it hit. Weird that it takes so much to get the little bean cause as a teen, I thought if I just touched a wiener, I would get preggo. :dohh:

Hi, I'm 38 and had thought that I'd done my stuff!! Have 2 aged 13 and 10 and a few months ago suddenly had a real urge to have one more - and it hasnt gone away!

So third month of trying - heres hoping.

Good luck to all xx

Hey Mork - Haven't seen you round for a while. You've got me confused though. I could have sworn we both started out TTC on cycle 1 in January (didn't you start the thread that spawned the Naughties?) so how come I'm on cycle 6 and you're on 7? Have I counted wrong??? I guess I must have just started a little bit after you.
It would seem that I'm not so good at dates these days. Some friends of mine are coming home from the UK for a holiday in September. They emailed and said they'd be in Welly from 4th - 9th, most likely travelling to & from on the 4th and 9th. Well, somehow I got it in my head that that meant they'd only be around for the weekend!

hi everyone im 35 and ttc my tenth i normally fall quite quickly but been trying quite a few months this time i think it must be my age lol .xx

Hello ladies - its great to see some familiar BnB-ers!!
Heavenly, Mork - and I recognise you too Quail !

Its funny isn't it - we spend ages afraid of getting preggo that when we finally decided to make a baby its a real task!

Yup - the average time to conceive is 12 months - eugh... 6 months to go...

Good luck with the Clomid Lioness. If we don't make it this cycle were going to go to the Drs for tests. What did you have done... lap/D&C/dye... what are these?

Well cycle 9 for me and 2nd cycle with a CBFM.

We will both go to the docs after a year...and see if they want to put me down or the OH.
