30-Somethings TTC#1

Hello ladies,

I hope you don't mind me popping in, I did a search for laparoscopy and this thread popped up. I am 30 and have been ttc for 19 months.

I was after a bit of reassurance as I am booked in for a lap & dye tomorrow and I'm starting to get a bit nervous. Any advice is greatly welcomed!!!

hi there  Is it a lap&dye that you're having? as i'm booked in next month and v worried about it  how long have you been ttc? i'd love to know how you get on - best of luck, lots of:dust: for you

In my selfish panic I didn't even ask how you are and how long you've been ttc etc?

I had mine on the Friday which was CD7 I think or maybe a bit later. I started ttc on the Monday CD10. Maybe should have left it later, but didn't want to miss the eggy!
I guess it's up to you. If you feel like you can, then do it!
I just asked DH to be gentle and to realise I was still a little tender etc in the stomach area. x

I think I will probably give it a go and see how I feel. Perfect excuse for him to do all of the work while I lay there for a change :laugh2:

Exactly! :haha:

Hi Hope4!! Welcome to the thread. I haven't had a lap and dye, so can't give any advice, but will keep my fingers crossed for you!!

Hmmm a bit confused today. I thought my cycle was a bit too settled last month with AF arriving right on time and thought I'd O'd fairly bang on time too. But this month I decided to start using OPK's and I'm on 14th day of my cycle and still no positive. Anyone any ideas???

Conina, not everyone ovulates on day 14. So keep at it until you get a positive. The number of days til you ovulate can change, but I've read that the LP is usually the exact same length every month. For example, last month, I O'd on day 14, but every month prior I O'd somewhere between CD17 and CD21.

Hang in there!

Morning ladies,

Squirrel, thank you for welcoming me to the thread. It looks like it has been a very lucky thread so fx for the rest of us!

Mrs LB, I had my Lap & Dye yesterday and just wanted to reassure you that you will be fine. I am a little sore today and I don't know if you have read much on the procedure, but I have found what they tell you about having sore shoulders from the left over gas is spot on. I was under the impression that I'd be able to go back to work by tomorrow, but my surgeon has signed me off for a week. I'm making the most of getting the OH to do everything for me.

I was a little bit teary afterwards, but the nurse told that is a symptom of the anaesthetic. I didn't get on too well with the line they put in for the anaesthetic and the drip, it was the first thing I could feel when I came round and they had to remove it straight away for me because my hand was sore, red and swollen. I've got a dressing on it but have been told that it is all fine. All the other ladies in the day surgery who had the same procedure still had their line in, so it's probably just me that had a problem with it.

The good news is I have no blockages and the dye went through my tubes no problem. I had a small cyst at the top of my left tube which he removed. Part of me is over the moon that there is nothing wrong, but the other part of me is now thinking why aren't I getting pregnant then. I have read that the lap & dye can work wonders for many women and they miraculously get pregnant following the procedure so I am trying to stay positive.

I hope it goes well for you and let me know how you get on!

Hi everyone! I'm back. Hi to everyone new

Squirrel - Glacier National Park was amazing wasn't it?! Where did you guys stay and from where did you hike? We stayed in Whitefish and hiked from Logan's Pass and Many Glacier. We're now thinking of adding Banff to our ski destinations this winter. Did you see any bears? We didn't but let me tell you those bear warnings freaked me out!

Waiting - I say wait for the fertlity specialist to give you some better answers. I know that it seems like forever until the appointment though. We haven't gotten the sperm analysis results back so I can't comment on what you guys were told. My progesterone has always been normal regardless of the day it was drawn (yes they've tested me multiple times!) I have one more test left despite thinking I was done - an endometrial biopsy scheduled for next week. By the end of the month all the test results should be in and then we'll know how to proceed. I wish for your sake it was November already!

Hope4, glad you're doing well. FX'd for it leading to a big fat positive next month!!!

Maxxi! Glad you're back and you had a great time! Many Glacier was my favorite. We hiked up to Grinnell Glacier, about 5 or 6 miles each way. Beautiful! Also loved the Going to the Sun Road.

We stayed at the Red Sun Motor Inn. It was quite a throwback to the 1960s!

We saw a black bear and her cub at Grand Teton National Park, but didn't see any at Glacier. Everyone did seem freaked out about seeing bears up there, with their bear bells and all! But we never talked to anyone who had actually seen one...

Well methinks I am out. Spotting started just like usual. yay... whatever. I'm feeling like I'm done trying until the OH actually gets an SA. Not worth me getting upset about if I don't know what the issue is.... OH isn't bothered, so why should i be, right? meh.

Squirrel - I saw tons of people with bear bells and I kept thinking that those bells can't possibly help scare a bear. I ski in Jackson Hole and saw a wolf once but no bears. And I agree Going to the Sun road was amazing! You're not out this month till you're out but I know how you feel. I keep getting AF-like cramps. I'm not making myself crazy this month though because I'm not expecting anything. It's nice to have my doctor worry about this rather than me obsessively worrying.

Day 17 and still no positive OPK. Will be reunited with hubby on wednesday :happydance: so maybe this month isn't out yet after all...

thanks squirrel. Although what I'm worrying about is that maybe I read the signs wrong last month and I haven't started o'ing again after coming off the pill. but i'll keep testing and see what happens

Ah, yeah, I've heard it can take a little bit for the BC to clear your system. In any event, have fun BDing anyway!! :haha:

Hope everyone had a good weekend! I'm going for my endometrial biopsy today and after that I get to take a little break. So far everything's been normal. I'm thinking that after my next period in the middle of October we'll start getting a move on things. Glad the testing will be over today!

I hope it went well, Maxxi! Yay for being done with tests!! :wohoo:

It hurt that's for sure! DH's sperm analysis came back and although his total count was a little low the other results were normal so the doctor wasn't too concerned. I should have the results from the biopsy by the end of the week. By the end of September all the results of all the tests should be in and even though they're all turning up ok it's looking like they'll start getting me ready in October for IVF. Not looking forward to it but I'll have to give it a shot. Have you heard from any of the others who got their bfps this past summer like parkgirl, etc?

I talk to LuckyD every so often, and I caught up with ParkGirl one day in 1st Tri. They were both struggling with MS, but hopefully it's easing up some now! Other than that, I haven't seen anyone else around!

Sorry to hear your test today hurt, but yay for being done.

Hope your tests come back ok Maxxi, or if not, hope it can be easily sorted. x
