Hello, I'm new to this forum but I'm looking for others experiencing difficult pregnancies to be my buddies. I am 30 weeks pregnant. This is my fourth pregnancy; I miscarried 1 and had 2. I have an irritable uterus and therefore contract, contract, contract. I also make little babies and have a tendency for low fluid. This time however the baby's abdomen is measuring too small, which I found out is NOT a good thing, so I'm being monitored very closely.

Anyway, yesterday and the day before when I had a BPP with cervical length measurement they think they saw funneling, but weren't sure if that was what they saw or just contracting. So, next week, if my cervix is shorter or if the funneling is still there I'll probably be on bedrest. In two weeks the baby gets measured again and I might be induced if he is not growing good enough.

So, yesterday I started REALLY contracting and today it is worse. I also feel more pressure. When I've mentioned this to my DR in the past she's said not to worry about it. I'm guessing if my water breaks, we'll worry, right?

I guess I'm just looking for support and hear other people's stories about funneling and contractions.

Thanks for letting me ramble :)

Hi, I'm new too! And our situations are similar. I'll be 30 weeks tomorrow. I'm having twins and they are actually measuring a few weeks ahead in growth. But I've been on bedrest since 20 weeks. I had funneling then and now at this point I'm actually dilated. I've been admitted to the hospital three times. Like you, I have an irritable uterus. It just doesn't like to stretch. My goal has always been to get to the hospital to stop the contractions before they turn into the real deal. True labor can't be stopped, so I try to get there early. I head to the hospital if my contractions start being consistent and I have more than six in an hour. Also if they make me uncomfortable or I start to feel lots of pressure. So far, I'm still pregnant and hoping to make it to 36 weeks.

Have they got you on meds for the contractions?ihad funnelling and short cervix at 20 weeks and I was put on nefidipine to stop any contractions that might come along.i made it to 36+5.x

I know it sounds bad but I don't go to the hospital b/c it costs about $250 a pop and they always tell me "yep, you're contracting" and then send me home. Waste. Of. Time.

Yesterday and today I had a couple of periods of bad contracting. Like stop walking bad. It lasts about an hour or two and then magically goes away. I think I'm going to ask to get in the doctor Monday rather than wait till Wed. They measure my cervix every week.

I'm glad I'm not alone in this! I really can't go on bedrest with 4 kids, but I also don't want to have baby too early.
